Instructions from the great leader.
I have to admit that I don't think there has ever been a celebration like that in Canada.
If the US ever wins this tournament it might not even be mentioned on ESPN.
There's no sporting even that would get that kind of national reception in America. Local sports teams in their cities yes, but nothing national.

Not only them
hahaha!!
Even though I don't like Stefan Löfven one bit, I think its important that the elected prime minister is there to show his support.

Wow thounsands of People showed up in sthlm today and nylander got the biggest cheers
Very cool. Grats to Sweden...home of one of the greatest tennis players of all time----though Mr. Federer reigns supreme.
Seriously, mucho grats!
Only applies to the World's, but I feel better when European teams win. Obviously they care a ton more than US/Canada fans about this tournament.
Don't be fooled Canadians care about this tournament
They pretend they don't but they do
I am Canadian and I it means lot when we win it believe me
TSN telecast every game on tv

Why are they wearing different jerseys plastered with ugly ads all of a sudden? Are they not allowed to wear the official Nikes outside of an arena? It's just a celebration, we Europeans need to think more about the importance of branding.
Finnish news had the answer today: the real jerseys had been backed too inaccessibly and they couldn't get them out in time, so they had to loan the junior NT jerseys, which is why they were having wrong numbers on them.
But apparently "they had the correct ads and so on" was a factor in the jersey choice. Obviously it would be bad form to deny the sponsors the visibility in the event when they'd get associated with all the positive feelings the audience has now.

(Then again, the excuse sounds absurd; maybe the jerseys were rather too accessible on the boisterous flight to Stockholm and someone poured something on something hah.)
The translation from Finnish was mine and crappy; apparently the jerseys were packed "too deep" or (what I gather) underneath all other stuff. So, inaccessibly.
Of all the shameful things I do, I consider carrying my fire wood in in one of those blue IKEA bags the most shameful. Despite it being sturdy and of perfectly correct size, it really ruins the timelessless of the experience of felling forest for family's warmth.
And, as long as no one there gets incapacitating "ankle infection" or air-cranks down the airplane stairs with the Cup, consider us people in glass house.![]()
