Wow thounsands of People showed up in sthlm today and nylander got the biggest cheers

good for sweden and nylander, great start for his career... picking up wc gold along with exp points  i hope thats the next big swede who will take over nhl as well as national tournaments.

God, I love the chill atmosphere of Sergel Torget and Kulturhuset. Congrats, Sverige. Keep doing your thing!

Why are they wearing different jerseys plastered with ugly ads all of a sudden? Are they not allowed to wear the official Nikes outside of an arena? It's just a celebration, we Europeans need to think more about the importance of branding.

Sergels Torg is like the worst place in Stockholm. At least it's a little bit better now since they renovated it. Before it was dirty and full of junkies. Now less dirty.

As for the ads, probably some kind of deal with their main sponsors.

This is awesome, happy for them and love that they take a lot of pride in it. Anyone notice if the older guys like lundqvist were also acting all giddy and such??

Only applies to the World's, but I feel better when European teams win. Obviously they care a ton more than US/Canada fans about this tournament.

Nike wouldn't mind them using their jerseys it but I guess Kyocera (?), Scandic etc. would.

That's prolly why it is my fav place in Stockholm, though Södermalm should be nice also... Last time I was there I ended at Gullmarsplan neighbourhood and Hammarby, to watch Hammarby Slussen boat traffic on a wharf near Hammarby IF Roddförening boat shack dipping my feet in the sea. So, Gullmarsplan and Hammarby are not bad either, but Sergels Torg (the correct form!) is a frigging classic and Kulturhuset by it also!

I think it's spelled alcohol

At least Willy is of legal drinking age in Sweden. Wonder how much the older guys poured into him on the flight home  Although 'Papa' Backstrom hopefully kept an eye on him.

Very much a deal thing. When the Swedes gave their reserved golden helmets (which they seem to very appropriately have now too :) ) to Team Finland after the 2014 WJC final I think, there was a delay in on-ice celebrations when the Finnish maintenance dudes were feverishly (and shown on air) slapping Finnair stickers on the front of them before giving them to players.
