Yeah, definitely, but its also important to not that he isn't a freak of nature in terms of raw talent. Like he isn't a 18 y/o Ilya Kovalchuk on D or something like that. Never will be.
I am not 100% sure how his game will develop in the coming years thanks to it.
He is a special player, no doubt. Best young Swedish D I have seen next to Vic Hedman. Better than OEL, Adam Larsson and co. But "how" good can he become? Down the line and before his draft year? He isn't the type who will pwn the opponents with his raw talent. How far can smarts and very very functional raw talent get you? How much can he develop physically?
Patrik Laine was the best player last year.
Damn it all to hell.. Makes perfect sense ??? I pay for TV4 play but have to switch to tv12.. ****ing TV4. On livestreams they have the cmore linkHm? Just go on tv4play.se choose "Kanaler" choose "TV12" and there it is. Works for me.
As an aside, I think this is the new generation of star NHL defensemen; they all have excellent puck skills. Liljegren, Dahlin, Merkley, etc are all excellent puck carriers. Kids who would have been very skilled wingers are learning defense instead, seems like.He has tremendous skill. Watch his puck skills. Defenseman in the NHL don't have the puck handling that he has. I can't think of a single defenseman in the league, maybe Erik Karlsson, who has that type of control of the puck, its like a mini Patty Kane with handling the puck, but he plays defense. It allows him to keep control of the puck longer and back up defenders without blowing by them, but he can also out-skill them and go by them.
I don't agree. I don't think he had a great game, but he's clearly trying very hard to play defensively. He spends almost all of his shifts as the 3rd man in, playing high in the slot. He needs to be more offensively assertive, but it's tough when your wingers are as aggressive as his are. They spend almost all their time below the goal line.Lias Andersson really doesn't look like he belongs

I mean, I don't think all his SHL points this year are a coincidence. He's a good player, and can contribute offensively. This might be a coaching decision.
Besides, I thought Pettersson was pretty quiet, too. Grundstrom was doing most of the work there today.
Interview with dahlin in swedish soon if theres any american journalists in this thread wanting translation you better have swish
He reminded me of Riley Sheahan for Detroit. Talented guy, good hockey sense, but just too safe. He could do a lot more if he gambled a little bit.Yeah that was my main issue he was too passive and when you're relied upon to provide offense you as you said need to be more assertive. Plus I said he doesn't look like he belongs this is all based on this game alone so yeah I'm basically just saying he needs to be better.
I thought Pettersson was a little underwhelming too, clearly very skilled and competitive but didn't accomplish a whole lot.
Filip Ahl is the slowest player I have ever seen.
What?
