I like it when we play a team for gold we lost to in prelims. They have some extra edge to them usually.

I'd be curious to see the stat between CAN-USA when facing each other twice in a tournament.

Another year another ****ing chokejob

I was at the game.. wtf with Sweden? No emotion.
As for Canada very good coaching staff and it shows all the players understood the gameplan and everyody showed up with the exeception of Ingram.

The Quebec line was dynamite once again and Chabot is NHL ready.

Also Cirelli is going to be a valuable player.

Meh, Canada won, but Sweden wad the better team.
Nylander beats anything the Canadians are producing now a days.

Sweden was not even close to being the better team. They were completely outclassed by the better team

If Sweden had a 30 million population they would have won easily.

No, it would be just a country of 30 million gutless hockey players.

by your math the States and the Commies should play for the Gold every time.

He's busy being the captain and the 3rd leading scorer in the NHL

I tell you, I wouldn't even trade Desharnais for him

And this has any bearing on the disgraceful diving I just witnessed how?

Like I said, best I've seen this tourney is Nylander.

I mean, to be honest, Canada just needed a spark to elevate their play.
They didn't even look all that good in the quarters.
Hart was the spark.

Canada was much better today. Sweden got a couple of softies in the first, but it was Canada all the way from there, they scored the hard ones. Outworked, outshot and outwilled pretty much sums it up. Complain about the refs all you want, there were weak calls going both ways and we looked about as dangerous on the PP as on the PK today...yes some Canadians flopped, so what? It happens.

Only players who looked like they wanted it was Sandstrom and Kylington, but two players showing up is not enough.

I'm starting to think there is something deeply rooted in the psyche of our players of this generation that just prevents them from applying that extra gear when it really matters.

I actually thought we would be able to beat Canada this time but pre-game the swedish coach said they hadn't talked about the physical game as an issue and then you knew he jinxed it.

Canada smashed us physically and were the better team over the whole ice tonight. Really an outstanding performance by them if you compare to earlier games. Only Nylander, Sandström and maybe one-two more players on an acceptable level for Sweden tonight.

Still - it's so hard to accept these refs. A lot in here about "goes both ways" but I think that just make it worse. Two wrongs don't make a right for me. I don't mind if there were Canadian refs as long as they are better than this. C'mon it's an international semi-final and I don't want the entertainment ruined.

Well at least one good thing from this tournament to bring home to Sweden - the decreasing attendance in Canada should probably make it easier to get the WJC in Europe more frequently. And maybe then we could beat Canada/USA in the playoffs...

Over the years, I have never counted on consistent officiating in IIHF tourneys. I am not referring to the difference between the NHL and international rulebooks.
I just think hockey in general is harder to officiate than it used to be. The speed and pace is always ratcheted up.
Of you watch NHL a lot, you see much the same in WTF moments.
