Turned on the TV before the game TSN had me convinced Canada was the underdog , when it come's to hockey Canada is never the underdog, should've have been 7/8-0 Canada instead of 5-2. bring on the States.

As do every sports network to drive interest. TSN does it for other sports too. Chris Schultz pretty much always picks against the Patriots for example. Drives up interest.

Canada were -139 on Pinnacle. The smallest favourite they've been in this tournament, but still a favourite.

I actually thought we would be able to beat Canada this time but pre-game the swedish coach said they hadn't talked about the physical game as an issue and then you knew he jinxed it.

Canada smashed us physically and were the better team over the whole ice tonight. Really an outstanding performance by them if you compare to earlier games. Only Nylander, Sandström and maybe one-two more players on an acceptable level for Sweden tonight.

Still - it's so hard to accept these refs. A lot in here about "goes both ways" but I think that just make it worse. Two wrongs don't make a right for me. I don't mind if there were Canadian refs as long as they are better than this. C'mon it's an international semi-final and I don't want the entertainment ruined.

Well at least one good thing from this tournament to bring home to Sweden - the decreasing attendance in Canada should probably make it easier to get the WJC in Europe more frequently. And maybe then we could beat Canada/USA in the playoffs...

The better team always allows 5 goals in an elimination game.

Canada allowed 6 last year against Finland and were a better team, if I remember that thread correct.

Was there this summer attending Bombers vs Alouettes game. Was very impressed with Montrealers; always greeted in French to start and as soon as you spoke English, better English speakers than I am. Very pleasant bunch of Canadians.

Loved my visit. Going back again and again and again... infinite.

Actually he was still eligible to play in this tournament, but no way Edmonton was letting him go for this tournament!
