There was an awful lot of Swedish crap after the whistle tonight for you to be throwing that around.

Imagine the reaction on HF if a Canadian had cross-checked a Swede facing away from him, head-first into the boards, after the whistle?

Sure bud Did not see no Canada powerplays cut short.Twice it went on against Sweden.

And twice they got scored at. And twice it was bogus calls. They absolutely had a part in the outcome of the game.
With that said, Canada always does whatever it takes to win. Fair or not. And it works. Sweden don't have the mental game. We fold against Canada.

I'm actually wondering if the officiating got in Swedens head because they COMPLETELY unraveled.

US might as well hand the gold to Canada if this is the type of officiating expected for tomorrow.[/QUOTE

Shameful statement. You should be proud of that.

Wait. So Sweden is blaming the refs now?
I guess if the players aren't going to do it for you, might as well give something else a try. Canada's coach was right, when going gets tough the yellows crumble....

Karlsson is in a group with Keith, Doughty, Weber, Subban, and Josi. Karlsson very well could be the best of the group, but Hedman, Burns, Suter, and a few others are in the next tier of defencemen.

Even if you want to take one or two guys out of that top group, there is still a handful of guys between Hedman and #2.

Agree to disagree, then. If I could take one D-man on my team right now it could very well be Hedman. Probably the most all-round D-man in the game. Keith's numbers aren't generally as impressive if you look more deeply into it (and it corroborates with the eye test, along with him having had the best 2-4 in the league around him when he was at his best). Doughty is definitely in that realm, though. I guess it's mostly down to preferences. A nation with so few players to choose from being able to match the behemoth that is Canada on any position is impressive.

Nah not really. There were the Chabot-incident that goes both ways (even if the refs didn't think so). The one in the third period I don't remember was bad and should have been a penalty for Sweden. Otherwise I think it was just some defending of the goalie as you see everyday. Sometimes with an extra touch of easy diving :)

I meant it most like a general/traditional thing that the Canadian winner mentality in these types of games are a bit stronger for sure. So it was most meant as a compliment as the Canadian players tend to sacrifice a little bit more to get a win.

You would think some of the posters on here are a lot of 16 year olds.

All the references to salt and whinging about Swedes whinging about refs in a loss, all while whinging about refs in a win?

I kid, both sides had some really embarrassing posts.
