Have a feeling this one comes down to which teams goalie sucks less.

My gut tells me Sweden wins this one, they play a stronger team game then Canada and guys like Strome and Barzal just aren't good enough to lead Canada to a gold medal game.
 
Swedes have a really good skilled team, it'll be a tough game.
 
Sweden has weak D, no offensive star players, mediocre goaltending...but worst of all, sweden has serious psychological issiues when the **** gets real.... **** their pants

Huh?

Nylander, Eriksson Ek, et al. The Swedes have looked like the most skilled team in the tournament.
 
Sweden has a couple weak links back there that Canada should try to expose.

Gunarsson, for example.

My thoughts exactly :laugh: I don't feel great about Canada's chances in this one but good for the Swedes if they beat us. They're a country I'm always happy seeing do well. As long as our side beats USA/Russia I'll be happy.

Canada could come out hot, or they could be a huge bust.
 
While Ingram may not have been stellar....Hart wasn't exactly great either. At this point I'd say you have to go with the guy whose been seeing game pucks lately.
 
Canada needs to play a Canadian style of game if they want to win. Dump it in, crash bodies and clog up the neutral zone.

A boring game = Canada win IMO

Filip Forsberg in his last WJC was really objectively no better a player at the time than someone like Alexander Nylander or Eriksson Ek tbh.

He was playing in the AHL at a similar level to Nylander really, and Eriksson Ek was around the same level in the NHL in his limited games as Forsberg was.
 
I think the winner will be the team with the better pressure on the forecheck. I think Sweden's D has the potential to be exposed if Canada forechecks relentlessly, as they haven't spent much of the tournement defending in their own zone from heaby pressure. At the same time, Canada has a big drop off after their top 2 D, and with Myers out, it might be tough to handle Sweden's offensive firepower. Also, I think Ingram is due to steal a win for Canada. Canada hasn't had a goalie steal a game yet, and hopefully he comes up big in front of the home crowd. I think it will be a one goal game regardless, should be good.
 
Gonna be hard for this game to be anywhere near as good as the Russia-USA game. Hopefully Kylington and Dube have excellent showings.
