What did I miss?

Kylington was clearly announced as player of the game but Grundstrom goes up like it was his hahha and then Ferraro says "I guess he feels he deserves it" Lmaooo

Did Grundstrom just steal Kylington's award?

"Better hurry before Grundstrom comes and steals those medals too" :biglaugh:

I laughed really hard at that too hahahha I love Gord's humor tibids.

(feel ashamed to be a Canadian in this board.)

When we win,

* We can ice more then 5 teams and still medal, etc

When we lose,

* our best players are playing in the NHL, this tournament means nothing for us.

When other teams lose,

* haha, still lose with their best players etc.

And yet you posted

Lol, typical Finland.

So hype yet play like rubbish. Finland is good when playing IIHF or those kind of tournaments but when come to best on best, they are the worst.

I feel bad for the Swedish players and fans. IMO they were the better team today. Hockey's a funny game, sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don't.
Next year I'll definitely cheer for Sweden as my second choice.

Congrats Team Russia and Russian fans.

Agreed I think Samsonov stole this game for Russia.

The streak @ 7 now.

And next year, we'll comeback to a magic place, with the incredible final, where we won gold for the last time.

These Swedish kids must be dejected after showing so much promise in the round robin games.
Congrats to team Russia. The team will look a lot different next year with only 4 eligible returnees.

Russia almost always goes with a mostly 19 year old squad. I don't think returning players matter that much with Russia. They always have a good veteran team at this level. Some other nations either treat this as development with the younger players, or don't have enough depth at the 19 year old level to do this.

weird, it's like Canada is the best hockey nation by far and even the results of a single game can't change that

Normally I always root for Canada and USA to do well in international tournaments. Swedish media likes to spread conspiracy theories to the casual audience, leading to common misconceptions about NHL'ers and Team Canada. Where others see questionable hits and cheap tricks, I see "that's how any game 7 in the Stanley Cup playoffs would look like".

I thought Sweden played just as "dirty", if not "dirtier" than Canada in the semifinal. But I was dissappointed in a couple of Canadian players trying to sell calls. When a questionable hit is made you can always argue that it wasn't intentional. But embellishing is something I can't (and don't want to) defend.

So I guess I'm rooting for USA in the final this time. But of course, they also have a Ducks draftee in their lineup

No because it is not worth risking injury to the players.

In that case, get rid of all regular season hockey games and pick what you think will be the best 8 teams from each conference and jump straight to the playoffs!!

Playing regular season games isn't worth the potential risk of players getting hurt. :sarcasm:

Embarrassing effort by Nylander to end the game there.

It seemed to me that Dahlen had the puck on his stick with time to move it but took too long, bobbled it, lost it, did not take the forward out and the goalie let in a softie. I guess Nylander should not pass to an open defence man in case he screws up like Dahlen did.
