Friedman usually knows his stuffFriedman reported today that Vegas will be involved when it comes to any possibility of Marner being available. He mentions he's heard that it would be Theodore and Thompson for Marner.
As leaf fan just getting a defenseman like Theodore be worth it. Just make it Theodore+ Mantha (being salary dump) + Hague for Marner+ Robertson + Timmins. Get 3rd team to eat about half of Marner contract(5 million) for leafs 23rd overall pick(Utah sends 65th overall). Ant Man becomes 2nd line rw he would put up 25+ goals if healthy maybe 30. If not leafs just trade him to gain something back.If there is one team that could turn Marner into a playoff performer, it's Vegas and Cassidy's system.

I can't speak for all Vegas fans but I've seen plenty of fans on Twitter that don't want him.No, he isn't one now. He might be treated like one in Vegas though.
If this is true, then who is traded out of Vegas?
I mean, Pietrangelo going the other way would make sense in this case as Toronto needs defense and would make it easier for cap space to get cleared.
Or they could do 1st 2024, Nicolas Roy, Brendan Brisson and Nicolas Hague.
nah, he used to be one of the best but now 95% of his content is just pure speculation.Friedman usually knows his stuff
This would be awful for both teams. If this is true, then who is traded out of Vegas?

No doubt.I can't speak for all Vegas fans but I've seen plenty of fans on Twitter that don't want him.
I mean. I'm one of them. No doubt he's talented but the offset of the benefit they get from acquiring him versus what the team would have to give up, I think at best is a wash. But realistically, it weakens the team's blueline and already depleted stock of future assets which will just make it that much harder to rebuild/retool. McCrimmon aggroed the trade and free agency market all the way to a cup but now the window is pretty much closed and he's still going. No doubt.
It's not saying a lot.If there is one team that could turn Marner into a playoff performer, it's Vegas and Cassidy's system.
The assets that Tre gets for Marner are going to turn into studs and beyond...Still don’t like the idea of trading Marner. Guy is going to turn into a playoff stud starting next year.
If there is anyone on Vegas that should be 100% without a doubt absolutely untouchable it should William Karlsson. The trick is that you always go and listen to the exact quote when someone posts a second hand source, or you take it with a grain of salt. Sounds like Friedman got "radioed" in the OP.
With that said, Marner to Vegas makes too much sense. They have pieces to make a hockey trade, mainly the fact that they have two decent goalies.
They could do something like a base of William Karlsson+Adin Hill for Mitch Marner. That gives Toronto their goalie, and a forward to cycle into the top 6 with Marner cycling out. Whether they add any futures or not would depend on what the market is like for Marner as a pending UFA with a NMC.
This is actually the right time to trade him. He’s 31 coming off a near career season making 5.6 centering the third line. Some team will value him as a 2C and trade accordingly. If there is anyone on Vegas that should be 100% without a doubt absolutely untouchable it should William Karlsson.
