Hi all,

Did anyone else go to the event tonight? If so, what did you think about it?

I had a blast. Everyone gave Subban a standing ovation. There was a satisfactory amount of jokes about MT and MB (mostly MT).

The comedians were pretty funny, my favorites were Dom Irrera, Jeremy Hotz and the Sklar Brothers. The Habs jokes stole the show though, especially with the letter to MB that a comedian acted out on stage, like on the Jimmy Fallon show. It was filled with expletives! I don't think Subban had anything to do with the letter's contents , though.

Elise Beliveau and Subban's sister (who manages his foundation) came out at the end and he presented the crowd with a giant cheque with the proceeds from the event towards the Childrens Hospital.

Hope you guys get to see the show sometime, it seems that they taped the whole thing.

Thank you Subban! :handclap:

P.S. Subban wished us good luck winning under MT's system. :P

I wonder if he actually wrote that letter.

lol we'll need it.

Hopefully some clips pop up on yotuube.

I was there -- sitting directly in back of Elise Beliveau.

Decent comedy night. PK took some restrained shots at management, but that Letter Skit was scathing. I'm sure it was written by the comedian who read it.

Really was a great night. So happy to have been present. So pissed again at MB and MT for being ****** human beings. See ya in another life Subban, you could have seen your jersey retires in Mtl rafters but some *****es decided differently.

I hope Therrien's system never wins a Stanley Cup

You don't have anything to worry about. Therrien will never win a Stanley Cup as a head coach, I am quite confident in saying that.

His system and approach to coaching is a relic of the past. Subban isn't the only one who realizes Therrien and his systems are a complete farce. I bet its league wide water cooler fodder for other management groups.

Had Subban not been traded, this probably would've been a tame evening with mediocre comedy. Instead, the trade was a curveball that tweaked Subban's monologues, added the bit with the letter, and turned the night into a bittersweet goodbye to PK and middle-finger salute to management.

Last time we get to be PK's home-crowd.

Why in the sweet hell would you want to trade such a beauty???

**** you Bergevin. And **** you Molson for letting that happen.

Yeah, why in the hell would you trade a guy who openly endorses jokes saying "**** you" to his ex managers. You gotta have so much class to do this!

This ****ing city is embarassing.

Yeah, let's lose but with class. How about you lighten up and realize that this was a comedy show and that it's all in good fun. And the big "**** you" came from the management towards its fanbase and towards PK himself by trading him. So...how about you get his side of the story so he could "**** you" back?

Class is overrated. I'd win by punching Marchand in the face, than lose by applauding him 'cause he scores a nice goal.

Your post is embarassing.

He's a freaking multi-millionaire among tons of others. If people are so attached to a professional athlete so they can hate guys they never even met like Molson and Bergevin, see even Therrien and Pacioretty, and that they can't get over a trade which, ultimately, rationally, sends a #1D elsewhere in return for another #1D, they need to re-evaluate their priorities in life. Seriously.

Well I'd say that anybody who calls a city "embarassing" because of their reaction towards a hockey trade might also need to re-evaluate their priorities in life....

Towards its fanbase? If the fanbase of a hockey team is more attached to a player than to the team itself, then this fanbase is not worth ****.

I mean, it's enough. It's ****ing enough. I can understand the pain in the days following the trade, but in the end this guy is just that - an athlete. And if you guys say what you'll miss the most is his charisma, then you might want to watch WWF galas instead of NHL hockey. Because this "charisma" is all for the show, really.

If Subban actually moved on from the trade, well then get the **** out of here and go to Nashville already. To say **** you to the management who actually made you the highest-earning D in the history of the game (annually), well it says a lot about your character.

By the way, let's hope soon, but big **** YOU'S are handed left and right in the business where GM, coaches, administration, management and players are either fired, traded, let go, buy out or whatever. You don't have to say it.....but it's there nonetheless. PK had no problem endorsing someboyd who said it....so he wasn't an hypocrit while others are CLEARLY saying they want you out but hey...with class. Don't see the big deal.

Yeah 'cause Subban actually NEVER did anything for them. I mean, he didn't attract new fans to their games by either going or watching it. He didn't sell any jerseys.....he never did anything for them at all. You are right. It's just a one way thing here. Thank god for the Habs, no other team would have given him the same kind of money. Well you might be right after all...no OTHER TEAM WOULD HAVE BEEN AS STUPID AS BEING STUCK TO GIVE HIM SO MUCH MONEY BECAUSE THEY WERE DUMB ENOUGH TO BRIDGE HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE......So yep, PK should be gladly happy to have been on a team ran by idiots.

And yep...its fanbase. 'Cause since the GM tells us that it's damn hard to trade, damn hard to pick great players, and damn hard to play and make the playoffs in this tough league that is the NHL, what the fanbase want, if they can't be a contender, is to have a good show. 'Cause in the end, NHL is STILL entertainment. So if you can't win, might as well have "some" kind of fun. Great news for us? We're keeping the fun out, so NOW they have no other choice to win until.......we learned how it's tough for Bergevin to do his job, poor him. We lose.....but it's not his fault. Never will be.
