I'm guessing his agent put out feelers and knows there will be a team signing him, cause otherwise why on earth would you walk way from 5 million dollars. Even to ride the bus in the AHL.

My guess is there is absolutely no way he is leaving money on the table ….. details to follow .

Even if a team signs him it will be for minimum money otherwise could have just traded him to that team for future considerations

He's only 32 and scored 26 last year. How cooked is this guy? Seems like he could be a decent vet addition to a bottom 6
He has been ass this season but a usual lock for 20-25 goals a year and around 40-45 points. He could definitely help a contender on a cheap deal as secondary scoring, a change of scenery might do him well

might be a situation where the player is valuing himself over the dollars. Walking away from 5.3 million. But if he gets to an offensive first team/situation could get him a nice contract in the offseason. Colorado, Edmonton, Florida, Tampa, Dallas, Vegas are teams to look at. Will most likely get him a good contract in the offseason

Blues fans, what’s the deal with him? Still can put the puck in the net, has he been bad enough to warrant being put on waivers?

Blues got lucky getting to mutual terminate that contract. I expect a few teams will offer near a million to him. Saad is going n to leave series money on the table here but he should be able to find an opportunity to play on a cheap contract. My guess is Stan Bowman calls

If he doesn’t have a deal lined up elsewhere giving away 5.4 million is a…..choice.

It’s a choice even with a deal. I can’t imagine he’s getting much more than a million from a contender looking for depth.

Now if he shows well on a contender this year there could a be deal like Skinners for him next season. He might not lose a lot but there’s certainly a level of risk at play.

In the end I think he’s showing he values playing over the money. That’s a good sign for which ever club gets him. I hope it works out well for him.
