Nah….when his wife had a baby, he almost completely checked out. Maybe it is something much more simple than just walking away from money. Family.

As a side note, the 26 goals he scored last season were the most boring and unimpactful 26 goals ever.

Then again, maybe he signs with a contender for one more fun run and retire. That’s what I would do.

Well, he has $57M in career earnings. Assuming he didn't blow it all, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids are taken care of, so maybe picking where he and his wife want to raise their family is more important.

I actually think he goes to Tampa. To me he needs to play in top 6 to have success. Tampa has the thinnest top 6 of the 4 teams mentioned. Connor Geekie has 12 total points and just 1 point in his last 10 games…and he plays in their top 6.
