So first off, I wasn't sure what category to put this under so I just settled for speculation. The blues have been in the rumors like crazy the last few months, obviously. Yet, for whatever reason, they've been singled out more than alot of other teams. I think it's because the expectations were just set too high going into the season. The real problem is the central division as a whole. The truth is, hockey is a much faster paced game now and the central division, unlike most others, depends alot on veterans and skilled defenders rather than superstar goal scorers like crosby, Stamkos, hall, etc. And you'll notice, the two teams leading the central feature guys like laine, scheifele, Forsberg. Maybe it's just me but I'm beginning to think the best course of action is to stay put and let other teams dictate how we operate our roster. I'm just starting to think maybe being the first team to sell off a guy like Pietro or tank maybe isnt the best way to go... maybe it's just a bad year for the central? I mean the blues aren't exactly reliable come playoff time, but they are pretty reliable as far as getting us there. Anyone care to share their thoughts?
