Anyone else find it weird the 50/50 hasn’t been posted yet?

They must have hit a snag trying to gift the jackpot to one of their real estate broker friends. Probably somebody who wasn't in on it saw something they weren't supposed to see and now they're in crisis lock down mode trying to pay off that person and make everything seem legit. Is that too much of a tinfoil hat take?

Otherwise, if you were just doing the draw at 4pm you would do the draw and post the winning number immediately right? It should be just like any other legit charity draw. It doesn't take that long at an Oilers game, the tickets stop being sold at the 2nd intermission and the winning ticket is drawn well before the end of the 3rd period. So like you said, why the wait?

Sounds like it. Not sure why they didn’t wait to announce the date of the draw till they were certain that was taken care of. Bit of a gong show to say the least.

Right, but it's not like every game they get the ability to easily create an SQL database filled with ticket numbers, names, and credit card numbers, and amount paid either. This kind of information should be quite easy to process and manipulate at scale. Hardest part would be creating the refund forms and adding another column to the database based on certain. From there you run three lines of query and have a list of creditors for accounting and a proper prize pool.

I suspect the real problem is they were unqualified to run a 50/50 like this electronically and deal with disputes, and thus pooch and lack proper tracking information entirely, and are thus blindly thumbing through a haystack manually like bumbling idiots.

The NHL can't even draw a ball without dropping it in a draft sweepstakes. 50/50 can't even sell tickets properly or invoice properly for orders..

If any of the reporting is to be believed, 3 real estate agents had won the first 3. If a 4th wins the last one, the odds of Canada getting nuked by Guatemala would have been higher.

The Oilers are working with their technology provider to compile the final raffle participant list to make sure it is accurate and up to date.

Yeah I'm not confident in these bozo's providing a correct list of participants.
