Im assuming it's just a depth move but I really hope they aren't lining this up as a replacement for beauvillier with the way he's played.

I think they'll just waive him and let him play in Bridgeport until there's an injury here. It's not like he's getting claimed, and Bridge could use the help up front.

Probably means the official end of Barzal. Bernier can ride the pressbox

Prince will be in the press box when he's healthy, otherwise it could be Bernier. Ho-Sang would be the replacement for any forward that goes down for an extended period of time in the top 9 I'd aguess.

Hopefully that's where he stays.

Capuano gets one of his pets back so he can bench any of the younger players to get his veteran gritz into the lineup. It's all about the gritz folks.

He'll do well in Bridgeport and should provide some good veteran presence for the kids down there. He can do a job if called upon for the Isles as well

He will be in Bridgeport along with Gionta. He is a good AHL player, should help.

Steve Bernier 2: The Re-Berning

The Bern Identity.

depth move, nothing to do with Barzal. Prince on IR.

That said, Simple Jack seems to be inclined to keep Barzal out. Cant sit Beau, he's been too good.

Depth move. Nothing more. Once upon a time this was a NHL move, now its depth. Isles fans should be happy about depth players, especially those with legit NHL experience.

However, I can't believe he stayed knowing the commute, ice conditions, and the lack of a real coach...

That coach was probably his biggest reason for coming back. Capuano loves his grinder vets and will routinely play them over the kids. Any injury up front, who do you think Capuano is going to want to be called up from Bridgeport? Ho-Sang? Dal Colle? He'll want Bernier and he'll play him. What other NHL coach would do that? None. Bernier is not stupid, Capuano is his best chance of playing in the NHL again this season. If he plays decent and the team wins, he'll be right back out there riding the wave. In the best case scenario, he parlays that into a deal for next season on a different team or even the Isles as the new Boulton.

Staple tweeted last year I think that Bernier wasn't super pleased with the amount of ice time he got with the Isles and would likely go elsewhere. Not sure anyone else was offering him a deal, but I'll happily take him as insurance. If Beauvillier sticks, we have Prince, Ho-Sang, Dal Colle, Bernier, and Gionta that can all step in a fill some time. That's pretty solid depth.

Depth move until the inevitable. Injury and need a winger. Who comes up, Ho-Sang or Bernier? I know what I would bet my mortgage on.

Jack at the Taco Bell scratching his ass and musing: "hey, where is that Tyler Kennedy guy, anybody know". FM

Both of you are spot on. Depth is a great thing when Capuano isn't the coach.

I am glad they didn't do anything like trade for a RW1 or hire a real coaching staff. That would have been deplorable.
