I am lucky one.

Only a couple of games today, so not a lot of movement. WeThreeKings had the best day picking up 6 points including a win for Sandstrom. Here are today's numbers:

WeThreeKings - 6 pts
Tomsburninghat - 4 pts
Khabby - 4 pts
FightingSioux - 2 pts
Statsy - 2 pts
Woodhouse - 2 pts
Canada4Gold - 2 pts
Tade - 1pt

That's crap, just saw the empty netter by Nylander in the Swe/Fin game and Erikkson Ek poked the poke out for the assist but they never credited it even though the announcer called it, I better not lose by a point...

The funny thing is that this year has been waaaay better for correct scoring from the IIHF. So you actually have a chance to get credit for that assist.

Standings (After 4 Days)

Plenty of goals scored today, so we saw some movement in the standings. WTK had the biggest day with 11 points, jumping up to a tie for second spot with Tomsburninghat, who also had a successful day with 9 points. C4G retains top spot but things are pretty close just after that. There's a bit of a gap and then the standings tighten once again in the bottom four. Hmmm... it's almost like this pool is taking on the form of the WJC itself; One race for the gold and several entrants just looking to stave off relegation!

Here are today's totals:

WeThreeKings - 11 pts
Tomsburninghat - 9 pts
Statsy - 7 pts
Tade - 6 pts
Canada4Gold - 6 pts
FightingSioux - 6 pts
Khabby - 5 pts
Woodhouse - 3 pts

I guess this was the year that I finally let someone else medal in the standings. It's not easy being in the top 3 nearly every year

Standings (After 5 Days)

Today was a real game-changer for the pool! Three points... total. So few, in fact, that I will mention the scorers by name. WeThreeKings got a goal from Nico Hischier, Tade has an assist from Martins Dzierkals, and Statsy has an assist from Damien Riat. Still trying to figure out how they waived off the goal Riat scored, but c'est la vie. With those points, there was some minor standings movement in places 2 through 4, with C4G still in the lead heading into the final day of the preliminary round.

Happy New Year everybody! :newyear:

Standings (After Preliminaries)
Rank|Team Name|Goals|Assists|Win Pts|SO Pts|Pool Points
1|Canada4Gold|14|18|2|2|36|
2|Tade|12|20|2|0|34|

7|Woodhouse|6|13|0|0|19|
8|FightingSioux|6|7|4|0|17|
We are now through the preliminary round and about to enter crunch time!
C4G remains in the lead, but that lead has now shrunk to two points, with Tade jumping into second place with a solid 7 point day. WTK did some sliding as his team was quiet today, only picking up a pair of points. Statsy had a big day with 10 points, helped out by the fact that the new Finnish coach is already paying off! Additionally, a few overdue goalies finally put up some points as there were shutout wins for Samsonov and Vehvilainen (amazingly!), as well as a win for Gustavsson in his first start.

Here are the numbers from today's games:

Statsy - 10 pts
Tade - 7 pts
Tomsburninghat - 6 pts
Canada4Gold - 4 pts
Woodhouse - 4 pts
Khabby - 3 pts
FightingSioux - 2 pts
WeThreeKings - 2 pts

Hey the Kaprizov and Polunin picks continuing to pay off(should have took their center too)

Sergachev though

If Canada could win that'd be great. I'd have all my team into the Semis. If they lose I lose half my team

Wow...I wonder how I'd be doing if Mitchell Stephens wasn't injured up until now? And thank God he came back because Myers went down last game. No one said it was going to be easy to win this thing.

14 points for me today. That's solid with everyone still alive. I dare anyone to come and catch me :)

Standings (After Quarterfinals)
Rank|Team Name|Goals|Assists|Win Pts|SO Pts|Pool Points
1|Canada4Gold|22|22|4|2|50|
2|Tomsburninghat|10|27|4|2|43|

6|Woodhouse|6|19|0|0|25|
8|FightingSioux|7|10|6|0|23|
With 5 games on the schedule today and a fair amount of goals scored, some people had productive days. As C4G correctly noted/bragged earlier, he had a huge 14 point day to extend his pool lead to 7 points, while also hitting the half century mark. Second place has been quite a battle with Tomsburninghat's 10 point day allowing him to leapfrog Tade, who did well himself with 8. Statsy also had a big 10 point outing, allowing him to move into fourth spot, and medal contention.

Here are the totals from the day:

Canada4Gold - 14 pts
Tomsburninghat - 10 pts
Statsy - 10 pts
Tade - 8 pts
WeThreeKings - 7 pts
FightingSioux - 6 pts
Woodhouse - 6 pts
Khabby - 5 pts

Really? I watched the game and TSN also list that he assisted on the 4th goal. I just checked the IIHF site and it does not have him with that assist. Have you done all point totals from the IIHF site? That's the 2nd point I'm getting screwed on it looks like...I'm still going to give this pool a good run for the virtual money but I'm just throwing out there what I see. I should stop watching :P

The IIHF site is the "official" scoring, so yes, that's the site we're going off. Interesting that it's Eriksson Ek again as that was the guy that got screwed the last time. Once again I will point out that the scoring has been MUCH better this tournament as the IIHF has actually started reviewing the scoring plays. Just in today's game an assist that was to Saarijarvi was later corrected to Nattinen. However Eriksson Ek's assist came on an empty netter in the last few moments of that game so I'm guessing the people that do the in-game scoring reviews cut some corners on that play and just never bothered looking at it. No idea what the story is on the latest assist they missed.
