Hi guys, unbiased hockey fan there...

I just wonder - Sharks have quite balanced squad, all four lines can make an impact. But Jones seems not to be able to be constitent during the deep cup run (though he has made one three years back, just it is not relevant nowadays you know).

So, is there any possibility for San Jose to enhance their goalkeeping before PO? Jones' contract is not quite favourable to be a trading object, but anyway, trading him and draft + prospect may bring fine last piece for a cup winning run. Just keeping in mind that Korenar may be promoted in season or two as a starter, possibly.

Your options, ideas? Feel free to discuss.

The biggest reason for Jones' poor numbers this season is a lack of commitment from the team to playing proper team defense. When the team has made a strong commitment to team defense for 60 minutes, Jones has given them a chance to win. He has been trending upwards as of late, and he has a track record of elite playoff performances.

The organization has made it clear that they have 100% faith in Jones to be their guy this season. He isn't being traded.

The real question is, which goalie is available in the league that is not only better than Jones for sure, is proven in the playoffs like Jones is, and is actually available as well?

My only guess, Quick, then we can argue if he is better or not...

Is Quick actually available though?

If he is, there is definitely a discussion to be had about who is better. Quick not to long ago, IMO even as a Sharks fan and LA hater definitely was better than Jones, but his injuries lately scare me about whether his recent shaky play is more on his team, or if his body is slowing down on him due to those injuries. Contracts are similar in price too, so that is a plus.

Sharks don’t need a goalie and don’t want to give up the assets to get someone better than Jones. The prospect pool is already thin and we don’t have many picks

Not that he’s available, but speaking to some friends of mine that are Ranger Fans. They feel that SJ would be the best spot for Lundqvist.
