Man the DoPS & refs are going to be asking for a Bertuzzi-Moore incident if they don't start cracking down on the dirty crap happening in the playoffs.

Oilers having open season on Stone's back, Kane going ham on the boards, Pietrangelo being a lumberjack to Draisaitl, etc...Call penalties correctly and consistently from the start and things are less likely to escalate to the lumberjack crap.

This playoffs feels more dirty than past ones, and players are going to keep playing sheriff if the refs and DoPS don't do their job.

That lopsided game where Sens set a franchise record in shots on goals with 58? Good game.

I watched that one live. Very strange game all things considered but you could see how good the Panthers are at creating turnovers and capitalizing on opportunities.

Yeah ullmark and swayman couldn’t stop a beach ball.

That certainly contributed. Still thought that the Panthers played well. They definitely won the goaltending battle.

You must have missed the April 6th game then -> Panthers 7 Ottawa 2.
Didn’t we take like 150 shots that game and our goalie save percentage was .400. They legitimately could not contain us. Levi was incredible.

Florida is shit?... What are you talking about. The content on this site is truly unbelievable.

They aren't coming back lol. They barely won tonight. Only 4 teams have ever done it. They aren't one of those teams and they are playing a team that is an absolute wagon.

The leafs faced elimination and Florida outplayed them. Wtf
Meng weren’t you drooling over the New York freaking rangers like 14 days ago. They’re shit. Florida is shit.

I dont think they are watching them now either. They are DEEP that third line has to be the best in the NHL right now. Reinhart is such an unbelievable player. Imagine having a guy that good on your third line. His hockey sense is off the charts.

Duclair is also unreal, defending Dorions body of work is shocking. He let that guy walk for free. Just absolutely horrid pro evaluation in this organization. But hey lets blame DJ for having absolutely no depth and the softest second line in hockey. ( I dont think DJ is a world beater or anything but its obvious who the problem is).

Florida must have some of the best pro scouting in the league. They've built a competitive roster with a few drafted players (Barkov, Ekblad, Lundell), a few traded for stars (Tkachuk, Reinhart), and a whole bunch of free agents/castoffs - Verhaeghe, Bennett, Duclair, Cousins, Forsling, Montour, etc.

Assen na yo!

Tkachuk must be hurt. That’s 3 games in a row he has been fairly invisible.
I was just thinking that. Then again, he disappeared for Calgary last year against Edmonton after a big game one. Florida needs him to step up, and the Panthers as a whole need to get more pucks on net. This is Joseph Woll, not prime Carey Price. I expect that if Florida can generate more offense and more traffic to the net, they'll take Game 5.

The problems is the league and referees are deliberately not making calls because they don't want to be accused of influencing the game.

Pietrangelo has taken several dirty hits from Evander Kane. And then you watch Mark Stone play and he's probably taken dozens of cross checks into his back which is much worse than what happened to Draisaitl IMO. Mark Stone might suffer permanent damage and loss of quality of life because of what the Edmonton players are doing deliberately to him.

And of course defenders will say "Pietrangelo didn't do a hockey play". Yeah and how is charging a hockey play? What about boarding? How about crosschecking? They are all penalties. Not plays.

If you don't get the "smaller" incidents taken care of it's just going to build and build until players like Pietrangelo snap. And nobody should be surprised he snapped.

100% Agree.

If the refs started cracking down on dirty crap from the first instance (whether that's the first cross check to Stone or the first [insert whatever] in round 1), you'd get less incidents like what happened to Draisaitl.

Depending on what the DoPS does, there's going to inevitably be more 'response' from edmonton until the league shows some damn consistency and backbone.

I'd like to say the Devils should be encouraged by scoring 1st.

They have their legs in the 1st

Love the way the Canes hound the puck

This goes back to Toronto in game 1 trying to ruin that refs career with those accusations. People forget these refs aren't exactly millionaires and don't have the luxury of going to the media or walking away the way coaches and players do.

Tkachuk must be hurt. That’s 3 games in a row he has been fairly invisible.

He's still living off his OT winning goal. Matthew can be a beast, but he's still pretty inconsistent. Get that intensity up every night and he could be a top 3-5 player int he league easily.

The league is responsible for not having consistent officiating. The buck stops there!

I am still pissed at Dorion for letting Duclair go! That's on top of the Zibby trade, the Stone trade, the Hoffman trade, etc.

It's interesting that teams that don't really have any superstars, but just have a lot of good players who play as a unit, are winning these playoffs. Lots of depth and less ego is a good combination.

Nice to see Noesen doing well. Career almost derailed by injuries but finally making a big impact. Good for him.

The NHL doesn't award Ws based on which team had more shots unfortunately. The big picture or comparison point is what happened over the entire season. Looks like Florida did better than us. Hopefully next year we will be better.

A couple points better. They’re in the same tier as us.

No clearly wins aren’t awarded for shots. But if you’re using that game to say “look how sick the Florida panthers are”. Eh…. That game kinda just showed that they stink.
