No words to describe how huge of a choke job this is from Boston. You have the best regular season in history and you lose to an average team like Florida in the first round?

Terrible.

But also very funny and I'm happy for the Panthers.
Florida isn't really average IMO.

They had a bunch of injuries at the start of the season and couldn't really find reliable goaltending until recently.

Does it even matter if Florida wins another round? This is a giant accomplishment on its own to beat the best team in NHL history down 3-1. Hopefully they give Toronto a run for its money but this has to be satisfying.

Can't stand MTkachuk, but can't stand Marchand either, Boston doesn't need to ever have success as well. Hoping Florida beats down Toronto, starting off with Matty doing something dirty but not illegal.

Toronto has a really easy path to a cup finals right now.

This is going to suck as a sens fan in Ottawa. Going to see a lot of blue jerseys, and new leaf fans pop up making it their team. Its the last thing this market needs.

I don't see it. Florida and one of the Rangers, Devils or Canes is not an "easy" path. Not like Boston looked amazing themselves anyway.

Man, Boston’s breakout looked almost as bad as the Senators’

I thought Boston would regress badly this year, they come out and make me look like an idiot, then they have one of the worst collapse ever. Will be interesting to see where they go from here

After David Pastrňák hey had no offensive game breakers this year. Pasta was neutralized and it made the Bruins look human.

I feel somewhat vindicated in that all season, I felt like Boston was a bit of a mirage. You looked at their record, then you looked at their roster and you thought, "really?"

I think a significant part of this was Ullmark. He was on a ridiculous heater all year, posting a gaudy save percentage of somewhere around .944, IIRC. That was both unsustainable and far above his career average, and he was overdue for a return to earth. Well, he just landed with a thud. There were other elements, including Bergeron's injury, Lindholm's disappearing act, etc., but Ullmark turning into a pumpkin was a big part of it.
