The refs don't allow the Leafs to get away with things. How long has Boston molded their game around that ethos? We just get a steady parade to the box and then resulting suspensions when games get out of control.

Maybe you're right and maybe you're not, but whatever Perry can give us is still much more than anything Simmonds has given the Leafs during his time here. Perry can still play, provide some points and give the same toughness that Simmonds has given us. I'll take Perry over Simmonds anyday at this point in their careers.

We got a real bad break at 1.4 seconds and a terrible Kampf/Brodie miscue on the special teams but mostly we need to stop playing with fire by taking penalties even if the officiating has been... biased.

I wouldn't call it a bad break at 1.4 it was a few bad decisions and terribly played by our goalie. Their third was similar.
