Not as good as season 1 but still solid. It's more of part 1 for the final season though. Not really a full season in itself.
S1 was better mainly because of the unknown of the games and contestants. S2 focus is not as much on the games as it is on the main characters.

But, both are worth watching.

Felt like a mid-season finale, which, I guess, is fine, if the last season is released this year.

I enjoyed it; this season was never going to have the same shock value and ”intrigue” that the first one had.

Netflix Korea briefly had a video go live that didn’t just have the 2025 release date, but a specific date, June 27, 2025. That would be just six months from now, essentially record time in releasing a new season of a huge show, especially when it took three years to get from season 1 to season 2.

However, if you’ve watched season 2 and heard anything that creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has said about this, you’ll know that this is more or less Part 2 of Season 2, rather than a season 3 in a more traditional sense.

Have only watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 so far and I'm liking the way they're setting things up. Looking forward to getting back to some of the action of the games.

Started off really well, but tailed off in the last couple episodes. Liked the focus was not just on the games and instead tried to build up some character attachment.

A bit more predictable this time around though. Got too clunky and misguided towards the end. But I'd imagine they'll try and pull it all together in the final season.

I think it falls victim of losing the shock value, s1 was a mindf***, this one doesn't resonate the same way while shoving the same visuals in your face. Not really excited to have to wait half a year to finish s3, which should really be s2b

finally forcing myself to watch this, and not done yet so havent read many opinions but…

why doesnt 456 just tell everyone he will pay them the remainder of his winnings from last time if they vote to leave??

Loved S1 and binged S2 during the week of Christmas. It started off strong but just felt flat to me.

Spoiler tags aren’t working so I’ll just say vaguely if you recognized 001 you knew where it was going

I didn't recognize 001 but it was pretty obvious from the start to me. Going to agree with the others that season 2 fell flat. I'll watch season 3 but it's just kindve a show I'll get around to when there's nothing else now, rather than the need to watch the next episode now that season 1 was for me. Still worth watching though.

man what a stupid and mostly predictable ending.

Ill also say if that was actually a real death of 246 (girl w cancers dad) what the hell was the point of that storyline?? lol

The players that vote to stay say repeatedly that they don't believe Gi-hun when he says he's played before.

What @barriers said but he also doesn't have enough money for that. There were a number of people who were saying they needed to keep playing for more money.

Finished season 2 last night, and the ending was very abrupt and out of nowhere. I guess it's to leave us on a cliffhanger waiting for season 3. A 7 episode season is a weird number to have so when episode 7 finished and there was no next episode in 20 seconds box, I was like... huh?

Needed an extra episode where they bring back the english speaking guys

that was pure comedy in s1

I felt the same way. Pretty much just a money making half season. It took me 3 days/tries to even finish the last episode; it wasn’t very entertaining and was even less satisfying.

It also made no logical sense and was out of character for
Gi-hun to lead an armed uprising. They just needed to convince two voters to get everybody home safely with a lot of money, instead he leads everyone to slaughter?

Ended on such a cliffhanger that I literally forgot that we actually even finished season 2 lol.
