I like proper beer but I also have time for a Lite. There’s a time and a place for, not every one of them, but for most of them. Coors Light, though, is an abomination.Light beers are like Starbucks coffee. They're aimed at people who don't like proper beer/coffee
lol far from it...I usually just keep it to Vodka.Aristocrat
When I was a teen, "Ice" beers where the thing we all wanted. Maximum alcohol content, minimum cost. Beast Ice, Natty Ice, etc. We were teens drinking to get drunk, it didn't matter.
Then you get to college and take a step up to thinks like Miller Lite, Coors Light, that stuff, where you could drink 15 in a night still. Someone invariably would roll up with some fancy shit and you'd drink three and be like, I'm done. They weren't good for beer pong or beer bongs or any of that.
Flash forward a couple of years, some people split off to "real" beer and a lot of us stuck with what we grew up with--cheap, light, domestic. And the beer snobs look down on you but those people can go f*** themselves. If I want to get plastered on the weekend I'm too damn old to drink 10 microbrews that add up to 2500 calories or whatever. I'd be 300 pounds if I did that.
I will stick to my Miller Lite and cigarettes (I actually quit a year and a half ago) and be happy and anyone that thinks I'm doing it wrong can get f***ed.Beer snobs are awful people, and if any one them are in this thread, yes I'm talking to you, too.
I first had Goose Island at Citi actually. Nice beer. Never heard of EBBS. But as someone who came up before the craft boom, I’m pretty impressed by all those brands. I’m good with anything made earnestly. It’s like cars now, they’re all pretty reliable and good. I may prefer one over another but broadly, they’re all pretty good to me.lol far from it...I usually just keep it to Vodka.
I only really drink a few beers. Goose Island, Lagunitas..I also had a really good one at Citi Field last month, EBBS brewing. Had never heard of it.
I love this and dont think I could’ve said it better myself. Beer snobs are the absolute worst. Judging me by the beer I drink, get f’ed.
How am I the loser if I drink Keystone Light but you drink a sour blueberry mint ipa that was brewed in the basement of a dude who hasnt showered in 9 years and most likely sprinkled his ball hair in the batch??

Miller Lite! So I’m not the only one. Thank you. When I was a teen, "Ice" beers where the thing we all wanted. Maximum alcohol content, minimum cost. Beast Ice, Natty Ice, etc. We were teens drinking to get drunk, it didn't matter.

No one drinks those. On a serious note: When I travel to the US, I always try to drink something local. Bluepoint in NY, Elysian in Seattle etc.
When I am at a game, I will drink whatever it available, as long as it's not something "exotic". Miss me with all those specialty beers with "unique flavours". Pumpkin Spice IPA etc I will never ever try.
A 2nd, 3rd, and 5th for a guy with 0 goals and mush for brains. Slats must’ve been hitting the pipe for that one.
Ice beer was a blast. Then when I was in uni Labatts came out with Wildcat. That was like 6% and also like 20% cheaper than the other brands available. Oh shit! When I was a teen, "Ice" beers were the thing we all wanted. Maximum alcohol content, minimum cost. Beast Ice, Natty Ice, etc. We were teens drinking to get drunk, it didn't matter.

Yeah in the last 20 years the microbrew scene had really exploded in the US. "Formal" microbreweries (and distilleries) are everywhere, and then you have the DIY scene. I'm fairly prolific with Google reviews and am constantly being promoted to review things. Every time I visit my mother at her new house I'm asked to review a brewery, and it's just a f***ing house in a suburban neighborhood. Turns out it's a guy who brews and bottles in his basement and sells only to two bars in the area.On a serious note: When I travel to the US, I always try to drink something local. I like Lite but also, Rolling Rock or Michelob. Do they still have Amstel. All solid bigger brewery beers.Yeah in the last 20 years the microbrew scene had really exploded in the US. There are some microbrews or larger-brand varieties of things I do like, but really Miller Lite is just my go to. It's a comfort thing for me honestly and slightly offsets the gross amount off calories I eat when out at a restaurant.
Not sure if you said those two on purpose but those are the opposite of local. On a serious note: When I travel to the US, I always try to drink something local. Bluepoint in NY, Elysian in Seattle etc.

Both are owned by InBev.
I do like Rolling Rock. There are some other things out there like Stella, Peroni, Heineken, Pacifico, and so forth that I like.I like Lite but also, Rolling Rock or Michelob. Do they still have Amstel. All solid bigger brewery beers.
Was going to say the same. Also, maybe I’m being naive, but the companies buying up the smaller breweries generally understand not to mess too much with success. Maybe they enlarge the operations but for the most part I’m under the impression the quality is still good.Well it is now, but it operated independently for like 15 years...the big boys come for all the good local brewerys eventually
Both are urine.
The best part is these drinks have alcohol in them. They’re fun. They’re funny. They’re usually tasty. And they pack a punch. It’s a win-win. Even when it tastes like grass. Or blueberries.I do like Rolling Rock. There are some other things out there like Stella, Peroni, Heineken, Pacifico, and so forth that I like.
What I don't like are really heavy beer that's have strong flavors. In my area we have a brewery called Dogfish Head which was once local but is now served most places. I remember we were in the bar/restaurant and my buddies were just ordering shit for me because they thought my reactions to the flavors were hilarious. One of them legitimately tasted like f***ing grass and I came really close to spitting it out. I was informed it was called Lawnmower IPA. A beer that intentionally tastes like grass! Who would want that?!? That's where I get lost with the microbrews; even though I try and like quite a few I know there is some crazy shit out there and I don't want it ruining my experience, so I stick the the cheap shit that I know and enjoy.
Yeah we know how particular beer people are. The small breweries, they're bought to add to the portfolio of InBev or whoever, but not to have the process changed. People are really particular and would get pissed and then you end up with a non-asset because you tinkered. Was going to say the same.
