I'd love for Chytil and Goodrow to be joined at the hip.Strome, Chytil, Kreider, Rooney probably.
If Chytil could develop 2way accumen/playstyle of a Goodrow, it would help the team A LOT moving forward.

Who are our PK forwards?
Goodrow and Mika obviously. Rooney? Hunt? Chytil? Does Kakko get a look?
Do you remember the source for this? I always assumed it was contract considerations only.
Kakko should absolutely be used on the PK this season.Who are our PK forwards?

My point is if Strome is on the team he should remain on PP1 and they should stick with the exact same unit that has been one of the best in the league until they are given reason to do anything different. That could be due to an injury, a prolonged lack of success, or anything else. I'm not really a Strome fan and don't like his lack of defense or excessive amount of penalties but I'm not going to just pull him off the top PP unit to force feed younger guys a spot there when those four forwards together have been the second best PP unit after the EDM trio. Those guys can still get some PP time on PP2 and will be the first to fill in on PP1 if a guy has to miss a shift for whatever reason. Their 5v5 play is way more important anyway. Who cares if Lafreniere/Kakko pad their numbers getting easy minutes on the PP? That doesn't make them better players. It just makes their numbers look better. The team is trying to compete for a playoff spot so I'm not about to do something that will probably make the team worse in the short term when I don't see it having a benefit in the long term either.
I think Kakko could be a lot like Rick Nash on the PK. I would be all for it honestly.Kakko should absolutely be used on the PK this season.

Good point.idk, I'd rather have someone else block shots and stuff. Can't have Kakko get injured like that ...
I'd gladly exchange the potential shorthanded points for even strength points.
The 90's Rangers, for me, are more a story of terrible trades and effort than terrible FA signings.
Zubov for Robitaille, Robitaille for Stevens
Savard for Hlavac
Kovalev for Nedved
These were all big losing trades.
Losing Verbeek after only one season sucked big time as well. I really liked him.
This one especially irritated me.
Not even close....Middleton for Hodge and the Park/Ratelle for Espo/Vadnais deals were atrocious but also a long long time ago. Some of us had to deal with those deals for YEARS and still hear it from our friends .The Kovalev and Zubov trades probably rank as the two worst in franchise history.
He played with an edge...we hardly ever kept those types around LOL....Yeah, why was Verbeek let go? They were cheap on the absolute dumbest occasion.

In case you never noticed...we have had some terrible front office work in the last 50 years LOL....Imagine if Sam Pollock and Scotty Bowman had of taken up residence in NY ? Isles were lucky with Torrey and Arbour .....a great combo . I think Drury and Gallant will make their marks in NYC . Both ex players and they know what is needed to win on the ice and in the playoffs . I'm getting pretty anxious for game one . I would have sooner faced the Caps about 12 games in....but....it is what it is .Yeah, why was Verbeek let go? They were cheap on the absolute dumbest occasion.
My memory is slipping so I reviewed his stats /Verbeek and it actually looks like he was starting to decline which is likely why he was not resigned and he skipped for Dallas. We likely dodged a big bad contract for a change ....so...can't blame management on that one .I am sure @RangerBoy got the info on this one, but I think the owners before Dolan was just cheap back then…
Not all Buchnevichs age the same
“he just had a baby”
