As much as ive preached patience in the past the time is now to go for it, over the next two years before our kids start eating our cap away. It will become harder and harder to compete when Laf, Kakko, Fox and Chytil are eating up 30+ mill and Panarin is on the decline. IMO the leafs missed their best time, when Kadri was there on their 3rd line.

...maybe 3...whats a realistic number of postseason series wins? My expecation this year is 2 series ...losing in the 2nd series. Then ECF following year? If one of Nils,Laf,KK.Vitaly or Filip bust out we could be a force.

This is my all time favorite RangerBoy insight.

We can't talk politics on this board. Not a big fan of Rupert's.

$4.99 per month for the New York Post? The New York Times is $1 per week for the first year. The Washington Post is $40 for one year.

Gudbranson signed with the Flames on Friday. 1 year. $1.925M. There was some speculation about Gudbranson reuniting with Gallant.

That Flames team will be a dumpster fire.
It absolutely fascinates me how the Western Canadian teams just endlessly recycle their players.

Seriously can any of you summon a list of active players that have played for at least two of VAN/CGY/EDM?

Live look at the Oilers and Flames rosters

I genuinely think the Oilers and Flames swap their players just to f*** each other over, and Vancouver is like “Hey! Don’t forget about me!”

NHL - can’t move a player from wing to center. Way too difficult.

NFL - can take a player who had never played football in his life, start him, and watch him turn into a player worth 60M

Can’t teach size speed and physicality. That’s why every sport pays a premium for it

If Gallant's plan is to have a stacked first line, Brooksie mentioned Panarin Zibanejad Lafreniere, you should sign him now, before he has an absurd season.

I can live with 5 years 10M. If it's like Coutuerier's deal, that'd be better for the team short term. 8 year $65M. NMC only for the first 5-6 years.

I don’t even think a 5 year option will be on the table TBH. Zibby and agent/brother know he’ll get 7 on the open market regardless. I’m just hoping we don’t go 8 years.
When it comes to this deal, it’s going to be a like a choice between a root canal or colonoscopy. Which would you rather have?? Both are going to be unpleasant. That’s why I firmly in the Exploring to trade for Eichel camp. Adams can’t keep his outrageous demands up too long, the clock is ticking on his bonus and NMC coming up. Both have huge impacts on his value. It seems as though both sides are content to let this drag out a little longer. I think Eichel’s camp is most concerned with his neck getting fixed rather then getting back on the ice this upcoming year. It’s a shame we’re going to see such a talented Young C sit for months before surgery/rehab.
This whole situation has turned from hardline bargaining to get solid value to a clown show.
At this point it shouldn’t matter to Buffalo what kind of surgery he wants, he’s never playing another game for them anyway

There really isn't another option than signing Zibanejad.

He will be overpaid in the second half of an 8 year deal, but I really don't think that's something that we have the luxury of avoiding with the roster constructed the way it is.

I think it matters because of the insurance -- fusion is covered, not replacement. I just don't see Buffalo footing the bill just to trade him. As you can see, there aren't many (if any) teams willing to foot the bill either (especially when Buffalo is so secretive about JE's medical records).

I've wondered why JE hasn't offered to pay it himself if he's so confident it will work.

My google research tells me the uninsured cost of replacement surgery is 40 thousand dollars. Not a major financial issue for an NHL franchise.

Shows you how much work it takes to be an NHL player. NFL players can literally be plucked from anywhere including your local big and tall store or running from the Po-Po.

Yeah, Lindgren got some backup there from Kreids and Lemieux, but we will have more of that. This kept going the following games against Washington too.
Up until Wilson had his episode, I think it was actually Washington with a Rangers Problem.

Hah I’ll take it. At least someone is practicing face offs with them. Glass is no Peca though.
I hope Barron becomes more like our home grown Goodrow type of player. Boyle had some great years here, but I think Barron can provide more offense with his skill set
Plus he is from the Maritimes and as such....likely can fight better then Boyle . Poor Boyle was willing for sure and all heart....
