I mean he’ll only be 30-32 after that contract. Just because he resembles Girardi doesn’t mean he’ll age as badly. Look at someone like Brendan Dillon who also has a similar playstyle. Is older than Lindgren will be if he signed long term and was just traded for 2 2nd round picks

I'd rather not take the chance. Obviously, we'll see as time goes along how he holds up, but it's risky. Every player is different, have different injury threshholds. He's good for a few more years, but beyond that, beware, or at least, proceed with caution.

The apex of the Lemieux experience was the Blueshirts Off Our Backs ceremony. IYKYK. It was a mortal lock he was gonna become a heart and soul player. Instead he became pedestrian.

I was lucky enough to be at the big comeback game 2 seasons ago in MTL. HNIC. We came back to win after being down 4-0.

Lemieux was tremendous in that game. A total handful. Scored, hit. Everything. I left thinking that we had a player in him.

That guy never showed up again.

He needs chaos to thrive like battling against Gallagher after allegedly taking Gallagher's sister to a Denny's for breakfast pancakes. We could have turned Lemieux into a Ryan Reeves, just smaller, less physical. The problem has never been whether Gorton wanted to bring in Reeves 3 years ago or not. It was Gorton entrusting the operations to a waffle cone like Quinn. Reeves would have been neutered here as well. Aside from size and physical punishment, Lemieux did just fine being the agitator.

As I asked the other gentleman,

What outstanding work did he do (and lets change this to the AHL because it still doesn’t matter) that would make anyone think this Kid could be a middle 6 forward this year? I think im the one “ROFL” at these ridiculously high expectations some of you come up with. You either are unrealistic or you simply havent been around long enough to have experienced countless prospects not go from being studs in the AHL to even an everyday NHLer, let alone a guaranteed middle 6 forward or higher. And Barron hasn’t even been a “stud” at the AHL.

Don’t worry I know what you’re going to say, ‘he was a PPG player last year blah blah blah’ — what, against the same 4 teams on the schedule in a shortened season? I mean cmon, I hope Barron becomes a serious player as much as the next fan here, but to pencil him as a real possibility for anything more than a 4th line role to start the season (and quite frankly it could last all season) is just setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment. He may not even make the team out of camp because the organization would rather him get 1st line minutes in Hartford, aka because he wasnt going to get anything more than 4th line minutes at the NHL level.

Nope its not personal, I am just not the one who said this kid could be a middle 6 option out of the gate. Be realistic.

I will tell you this as someone who has scouted him since Peewee. He wasn't going to be anything but possibly a Jr.A player at one point, then you see him progress and you're like, well he's getting smarter and bigger by the year, maybe he can be a Major Junior or a college player. But then he continues to work hard, get better, smarter and rounding out his game, and all of a sudden a late round pick seems ridiculous for him because at every level he has raised his ceiling. There's few players that you can lay it on their plate and say, "this is what we want you to be for us" and he is smart enough, driven enough and as much of a team player you'll ever see that he will do that. If the Rangers want him to be a 4th line grinder he will do that, if they need him to replace Chytil on the 3rd line he will do that, can he jump into the top six, who knows? I'm not sure that the Rangers will start the season with him in the lineup, but knowing his mental and physical make up he will be a good nhl player, i just don't know how good because he continues to raise his ceiling with age because he is smart and committed to getting better. I could see him as a Kevin Hayes type player down the road with more of a physical willingness to him, if he gets to that point that would be an absolute steal, if he settles in as a 3rd pk guy, still a steal.

Maybe he was an ok agitator, but he sucks as a player. He went to LA and stunk up the joint as well.

no worse than Reeves tbh. He could skate pretty well. He just never had a role here. Goes back to Drury's defined roles. If we had Lemieux under Gallant, he'd fine himself a role on the 4th line and would be more productive in 3 months than he was in 3 years with us.

I also believe that Lemieux had more to offer, I'm just not sure if he's committed to doing the work to get there, he had flashes of what you want marred by inconsistencies all over the ice, i personally would have kept him, but i guess at what cost. A guy with his pedigree as well as how many tools he had to get better being the son of a former nhl player should be able to play a simple game and show up in better shape to be honest. He has the talent to be a better Prust, he's not maximizing his own potential.

I mean, I don't know what the answer is, but why would I pay $4.99/mo. for Post+ sports when The Athletic, for example, is less than that and covers nearly every sport and every team nationally? My renewal for The Athletic is $21.59. Annually. What does that break down to? A buck seventy five a month?

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Charge me $14.99/year and I'll think about it.
I would buy lohud first. And I like Larry and the Post. It’s just not a good value. They’re misreading the market. Unless they’re providing some sort of extremely upgraded service. But they need to make that case better, if so. Adding the word ‘plus’ just doesn’t cut it.

Is this regarding Barron?

Worrying about player decisions and potential contracts 4-5 years out is a waste of time. Things change. Anything beyond the next year or two is a crapshoot.
Bingo. Two years is about as far out as my brain can handle. Beyond that it’s a waste of neurons.

We can only click to find out how this suburban mom erased her wrinkles and increased her bust size with this 5 minute routine so many times before they have to start just charging us $4.99.

It's apple cider vinegar by the way.

The $7500 must be for the chef/trainer. $500 will get you a substantial steroid cycle that’s probably stronger than what any of these guys run that’ll last two months. Unless you’re adding HGH. And if you know how to eat/workout, you really don’t need the trainer or chef, it’s just a luxury that allows these celebrities to go on cruise control. Honestly, anyone who is at a moderately advanced level in the gym and knows how to be disciplined with food can get insane results if they want to dabble in pharmaceuticals. Unfortunately, most people who do so don’t do adequate research, aren’t responsible about what they’re doing, etc. That’s why it’s so easy for these celebrities with the guidance of doctors and trainers.

HGH is like the fountain of youth for 40 year old men. That and a cycle of Annivar/Test especially with all these Anti-aging clinics popping up everywhere...
yea the 7,500 was the total number to get you there including everything.
Good HGH kits aren’t more then 1,500-2,00 bucks. It’s not like it was years ago.
Going to gyms in the 90’s and early 2000s shit was rampant everywhere, you got an education even if you weren’t on anything cause you saw so many people taking so many different things. I’m sure by now things have only gotten cheaper and stronger.
Years ago you could buy the cheap QV products that they use in veterinarians offices that have a picture of an freakin animal on it, or pay the premium for the good stuff

dont pay Mika until at least 2022
Why wait if the plan is to extend him anyway? It's not good to have a contract negotiation looming over the locker room on a significant piece of the puzzle if the front office plans on keeping them.

If the plan was to trade Zibanejad he would've been traded before his NMC kicked in. They're not dealing him at the deadline or letting him walk for nothing with no back up plan.

Strome, you can get away with that. Not with someone who's been pacing at a 50 goal pace when healthy the last two seasons if you don't count COVID zombie Zibanejad for the first half of the season last year.

rangers don't have much of a choice but to re-sign zibanejad IMO but they gotta figure out how to get a good deal that works for th em

Living in Arizona, I actually read a lot of Post sports coverage of baseball and media as well as hockey. At $5, it’s a better value than Lohud at $10 (after introductory offers)
