At some point, owners do cash out. They've owned part of the team for over 2 decades. Full control since roughly the time they hired Gillis, so that's close to 20 years.

That would give them cash flow to focus on other business projects. Just depends on what they want. Any of the next generation of the family interested in running the team? If not, they may wish to cash out.

Melnyk had wanted his daughters to take over and run the Sens. When he passed (earlier than expected) the young daughters didn't want to do that, thus sold the team.

3 brothers, with Frank the eldest at 65 this year. The other 2 likely late 50's to early 60's. So, kids could up as old as around 30 or as young as teenagers. Frank is also estranged from his kids, so unlikely they would be asked to run the team. So, up to the brother's kids if they want to do that. If they are adult children and they have no interest, then probably getting close to the time where they should consider cashing out on their billion plus dollar gain on the team and sell if the Grandchildren level of the family isn't interesting in running the team.

Read it again, the father Luigi and the two sons Paolo and Roberto have no role. The oldest son Francisco is the chairman and governor of the time. The other 3 probably don't like the bad press associated with their name around the team.
