$6800 early pick 3 at Gulfstream
The winning trainer at Gulf with the 30-to-1 shot, began training in 1951 and won his first race at Narragansett in Rhode Island back then. He is approaching 90 years old. His dad was the trainer of Secretariat.

Frankie Dettori and Phil D'Amato with a California horse looked brilliant. Great call by Dave Rodman, the track announcer at Pimlico. Frankie is ecstatic.

I’m intrigued by the 7 horse, but the top Derby finishers still seem like the best horses here, and I like Mystik Dan’s chances of improving off the Derby.

Only one other runner really respected the Seize the Gold staying on the lead, and with good reason, unfortunately Imagination absolutely hated the track, which was predictable. Dettori had a miserable time getting him to relax. I never liked that horse in this spot being a Cali horse running on mud, especially if he wasn’t going to get the lead. Even if he settled in, didn’t feel good about him getting mud in his face.

Mystik Dan, just couldn’t get there. No one thought the winner would have enough horse. Hernandez probably wishes he moved earlier.

Harrah's is about to open what appears to be a boutique racetrack in Nebraska. Scheduled for this year.

Stronach is involved in something similar in Wyoming though only in the planning stages.

Penn National looking into Texas and a potential track there.

The sport's future may be tied into casinos and sports betting and even boutique meets signal a step forward.

The elephant in the room is Nevada. No signs of interest there but maybe if California continues to struggle there will be some sort of input from an unnamed party.
