Trade #1
To :hawks
Islanders 1st round pick in 2020
Islanders 2nd round pick in 2020

To :sens
C Dylan Strome (RFA)

With emergence of Dach and Kurashev waiting in wings for #3C spot the future for Strome in Chicago seems cloudy. Not sure its reasonable to extend him to play 3rd line C going forward as he is a top 6 talent

For Sens Strome is young C who should be affordable to extend longterm and add talent to lineup. They have plenty of assets to move for a Strome type player as they have stockpiled picks

Trade #2
To :hawks
C Scott Laughton

To :flyers
Flames 3rd round pick in 2020

Hawks get a traditional bottom 6 C (Guy who can PK , 2 way game , etc) who as 1 year rental wont block Kurashev going forward

Flyers have glut of C so moving Lauhgton opens a little cap and gets them a quality draft pick

Trade #3
To :hawks
Hawks 2020 2nd round pick (Prev traded)

To :habs
D Olli Maatta

The strong play of Slater Koekkoek as well as glut of young LHD in system makes Maatta expendable. Maatta had good year with Hawks and was strong in playoffs

Habs need LHD and Maatta would be nice fit for them , is young and is signed for 2 more years

Personally I think the Sens just stay the course and draft.
But to be fair I know nothing about Strome, and am just looking at stats.

Actually habs only need lhd if they are 1-3. Maata is a nice 4 but not really a fit unless he improved substantially he doesn't fit the habs anymore

Unless Maatta is far more mobile than he was a year ago, I doubt Montreal has any interest.

Strome strikes me as the kind of player that needs elite talent around him to be good (ala Kane)

With all those picks in OTT and the need for a center, I would give it shot why not. Then you can draft Stutzle and Drysdale with your top 2 picks instead of reaching for a center that is better suited going 8th or 9th OA

Tkachuck/White and Stutzle/Strome wouldn’t be awful. Then having Chabot/Drysdale for the next 10 years would be nice too

Stromboli is someone who can benefit from playing with good players but he does not drive the play.

Don’t trade a 1st. Trade a low Nd+

Value is terrible. Laughton is only worth a 3rd but Maata is worth a 2nd?

And Strome isn't worth nearly what Hawks fans want for him. You can tout him all you want, but there's a reason that no other teams want him for that price and there's a reason you guys throw him in every single trade proposal and get rejected.

Each one of these trades only benefits the Hawks, no reason at all for any of the other teams to do any of these trades.

No interest in Maata. we need a puckmoving dman that can skate. Maata is a terrible option. Kulak demonstrated during the playins that he was capable. Romanov will be in the fold next season. No need to trade a 2nd for a guy who does not fit the profile.

Also, i don't think Maata has any value. i would rather have the capspace.

Stroke doesn’t have that value

A late first? He definitely does. (Maybe not the second too)

A 60 point center is absolutely worth a late first. You do you realize the overwhelming odds are that a late first won’t amount to what Strome is right now?

Just because Strome isn’t the franchise C he was drafted to be doesn’t mean he’s a trash player.

way to high for matta, probably to high for strome in most cases. he is ok center that does but up points and is still very young and is not going to cost a lot on his next RFA contract. that said he is not good DEF at this point so he is kind of a sheltered scoring line 2/3 center until he commits to D. a 21/22 center that puts up .75 pts per game does have value.

Assuming you can link something to prove he’s been offered to teams for that price and it’s been turned down?

The reason he’s in every proposal is Kirby Dach and the NHL salary cap.

I don't think anyone would trade a 1st and 2nd for Strome. His offer-sheet range will definitely fall in the 1st and 3rd range (or less if it's a short term deal), so why would a team bump up the draft pick to a 2nd and also give up 2020 picks over just offer-sheeting Strome?

Not saying he is trash...he isn’t good enough to get a 1+2.

More likely is a 2+5 or 2+ prospect

Laughton has only 1 year left on his contract before UFA , Maatta has 2

Also #4 defenders usually bring more value then a #3 C

Laughton isn’t someone you target as a missing piece for a cup run. He’s a bad e amp,e for comparison.

Malta as a mud pair Dman probably gets you a low 2/ high 3 + a secondary ptospect.

Price could be a little higher at deadline with retention making him free to new team for 20/22. If you get a 1st for mastta it woukd only come from a condition 2 becomes 1 if team make CF and he plays
