Are we really gonna compare this team to those dumpster fires from the Ballard years and tell ourselves to be satisfied with what we have?
Because it's better than what we had. Meanwhile ignoring the fact it's still not good enough. I wish my standards were that low.
I suppose the whole point of this article is to remind us all things could be worse.
And that would be correct. Things could be worse. Things could also be a lot better too.
Things should be a lot better.
Nothing has changed in all these years. This franchise is as much a winner now as it was then. At least the Ballard era teams had a reason for losing.

We are reminded daily that it’s a team sport and you need good players surrounding the great players.
Going in to each season this organization consistently has too many unanswered questions/holes they’re trying to fill and they can never all be answered positively.

At least in the 80s we knew they had no shot of ever competing. Today its a complete unwillingness to do whats necessary to bring home a cup.

Yeah I don't know how many times I've heard how complaining is insane because this team is the best we've had in over 50 years blah blah blah. Who cares? Instead of setting the bar so low and bragging about beating some ridiculously low standard, why not just compare the team to other teams playing today. After all, that's the goal isn't it, to be better than them?
The verdict is in - good regular season team that can't go deep in the playoffs, end of story. Talent only takes you so far but to win in the playoffs, you have to play with passion, stick together as a team and get your hands dirty.
