Earlier today, Michal Handzuš resigned, in protest, from the governing body of Hockey Slovakia. He's always been "the odd man out" among hockey players. (Too smart, I guess.)

Extremely disappointing to see Šatan, as president, govern Hockey Slovakia in this way. He should resign as well because he's not up to the task.

I'll definitely be boycotting the national team from today, not watching its games, until Slovakia follows the example of Finland, Sweden, Czech Rep, etc., and makes the decision that needs to be made.

The Slovak federation is allowing KHL players for their NT. Every other federation has banned KHL players from their teams following Russias invasion of Ukraine, except for the Slovakians.

Czechs, Finn's, Swedes and France won't allow khl players to play for the national team this year... EHT and world's.

Then other Slovakia's got pissed! The main sponsor orange is questioning it. I believe the ministry of education has an issue with it. And now habdzus has resigned over it.

Something tells me this will be reversed..

Ftr.. this is over 8 Slovaks in the KHL.playing on the EHT and world's. And the blowback is from Slovaks.

Yes, playing in the KHL is kind of shameful right now, seeing that it is largely a propaganda tool of the Russian government and teams have been used for war propaganda already. Many of these players signed contracts there over the summer, saying the money is good and they don’t care about politics. In essence, they will follow the money no matter how bloody it may be. Many people feel such players should not play on the National Team.
