Worst case scenario is that he adds veteran experience to their AHL team that is going to have a large influx of young players to it. They can't allow themselves to be a completely trash team again next year with all those kids. They're looking at a minimum of five pro rookies going to the Barracuda up front. Six if they want to slide Eklund another season. Seven if they decide to sign Linus Oberg. Raska will be a 21 year old 2nd year player there. Hamaliuk will be a 22 year old 2nd year player there and Ibragimov will also be a 2nd year guy with limited AHL experience because he just wasn't very good. It's a lot of youth and not so good when they need to be competitive.I understand this is a very minor signing, absolutely no risk involved, but I still have to ask
Why?
The Barracuda also really suck.I understand this is a very minor signing, absolutely no risk involved, but I still have to ask

Donskoi was excellent, Melker was pretty good for a few years, Barabanov has done well. They are very hit or miss but the stratedgy is basically free assets so why not?Sharks have been bringing in guys like this for some time now. We get some production but not anything that has really panned out
We get something from them and then they kind of peter out.Donskoi was excellent, Melker was pretty good for a few years, Barabanov has done well. They are very hit or miss but the stratedgy is basically free assets so why not?

Donskoi has been the exact same player year in year out. He’s as consistent as they get in terms of point production. We get something from them and then they kind of peter out.
Sure but he hit that plateau earlyDonskoi has been the exact same player year in year out. He’s as consistent as they get in terms of point production.
Sort of. Up until this year in Seattle, he'd become a more prolific goalscorer.Sure but he hit that plateau early
I mean that plateau was pretty high especially considering they spent nothing on him.Sure but he hit that plateau early
Not really that high.I mean that plateau was pretty high especially considering they spent nothing on him.
I’d take a middle 6 forward for free any day of the week. Not really that high.
Middling at bestI’d take a middle 6 forward for free any day of the week.
He was a legit second liner on COL who is way better than us. He’s a good middle 6 winger even if he doesn’t fit your size requirements.Middling at best
Size has nothing to do with itHe was a legit second liner on COL who is way better than us. He’s a good middle 6 winger even if he doesn’t fit your size requirements.
