Right, this is exactly the contract I was hoping to see for Thrun. He wasn’t very good last year but he was fed a lot of hard minutes on an extremely bad team as a rookie pro straight out of college. Two years for cheap is the perfect contract to determine if he’s worth signing last year. I expect Thrun to be much better this year in a more appropriate role on the bottom-pairing of an improved team. He’s got the skating, size, and skill to be a good #5.Funny I thought kind of the opposite...felt like he got blasted for the most part and that the Sharks really...well...fed him to the sharks. I'm sure the results will get better as I liked him as a collegiate defenseman. But I'm not sure he's done anything yet to guarantee himself a prime seat on the Sharks' future blueline. But certainly, two more years at basically still entry level price is a perfectly fine way to find out.
