Simulation picks Russia for hockey gold

Russia has great talent but will they play as a team? I saw a recent thing on TV about them and the players themselves discussed how multiple players would go out to be the star and not play any kind of team game.

Id bet the reason Russia won the simulation was because Nabokov was probably their starting goaltender and had a much higher rating in the game (because it came out before the season starter) than his play would earn him now.

Id like a rematch!!!!! :sarcasm:

The simulation was run in ENGLAND of all places!!!

What do they know about hockey?

At least let EA Sports run it...

:biglaugh: Despite UK not being famous for being a hockey hotbed, the best hockey related computer game does come from there and was used for this simulation. Plus it was made mainly by a finnish guy named Risto Remes :teach:

Besides, this has basically just as much credibility as the power rankings and such. We wont know a thing before the games are actually played.

Amen to that :D

We were just asked to run a sim on our game and see what came up. It's a prediction just like any other. Real life will take its own course and in a short while, we'll see how everything pans out.

Hey, atleast we didn't jinx Canada ;)

Team Canada strolled through the opening round of the Turin simulation, going 5-0 in the first round with Flames sniper Jarome Iginla collecting 10 goals along the way.

hah okay now we know this is inaccurate :sarcasm:

advanced to the final with a 4-2 victory over the U.S. in a game closer than the score indicated. The Russians finally solved an impressive Robert Esche in goal and the Americans failed to handle the Russian power play.

This simulation was either a piece of crap or designed to give summaries of player's performances in oxymorons.

NHL 2006 Eastside Hockey Manager

Is the best hockey simulator in the world.
A way better than EA and the Co.
