Offensively, Brunet limits himself to simple plays: shots from the point, timely pinches to push the puck back in the zone, and the
occasional give-and-go at the offensive line.
His lack of offensive instinct and handling skills explains why he didn’t receive more opportunities this season. He mostly only
acted as a defensive anchor for the Voltigeurs.
Brunet is on the older side of this draft class. And his meager 19 points over his 99 QMJHL games, lack of ice-time, and
underdeveloped skills further diminish his appeal as an NHL prospect. He could earn a professional career as a defensive
specialist down the line, however.
