Sidney Crosby Master of Deflection

Poor Lundquist haha.

That pass out of the air to Hornquist before getting it back and scoring on the empty net was unreal.. definitely my favorite play there but man were there some crazy good tips in the vid. Great job!

His hand-eye coordination is ****ing amazing. Probably the best all-time.

There is nobody better at deflections than Crosby, it's not even close.

Looking at some of those goals he does less behind the goalie, off his pad and in then he used to. I loved watching those.

When I first opened this thread I was like this really should be joe pavelski, but sweet Jesus those deflections are just insane! There's a reason why Sid is the best player in the nation hockey league and this is one of the reasons why

Most conclusive video I've ever seen to prove a point. Wow. How many goals were shown there? A hundred lol? Joe Niewendyk was one of the greatest at deflection, but yeah, Sid is definitely the greatest deflector today and we might as well say of all time right now. Amazing!

Great video. You should have included his behind the back deflection against the Flyers in the 2012 playoffs.

This along with the edgework, puck protection, backhand, and footwork videos shows how multifaceted Crosby was and still is. He's elite at everything, no real weakness to his game.

That video pushed Pavelski down to #2 on my list.

Not sure why anyone would have had him #1 in the first place. All of these videos focusing on different individual skills of his, all of which I would argue are the best today and possibly ever (how many is there now, 5?) basically prove he has the best all around skillset to date in the NHL, it's not really arguable either since it's hard to debate video evidence.

Been excitedly waiting for this vid since the last one. Thanks for doing this laflamm3, and especially for fulfilling our requests for his deflections.

Seriously.

Vanek, Pavelski and Gallagher are guys that immediately came to mind for me, and Sid probably has more than all three combined.

Reminds me of someone here saying Sid is jack of all trades, master of none.. So there you go, one thing he masters better than perhaps anyone in history of hockey.

Crosby has a very interesting and creative skill set. You can see that he's got a lot of creativity and has practiced the less obvious things a lot. He also has some wonderful clips of all sorts of tricks. I'm sure that all this helps him with thinking on his feet during the matches and allows him to swiftly make decisions to attempt plays that most others wouldn't even consider.

Brilliant Work Laflamm3!

Sid is ridiculous.

For anyone who's missed any of laflamm3's Crosby videos, here some others:

Even though it goes without saying, Sid's willingness to be in front of the net all the time sets him apart from many other players, as well. Lots of great pure goal scorers certainly avoid that part of the ice religiously, while Sid lives there.
