you know when we are in game 5-6 and we can't even get a goal then to push us to agame 7 we'll all say... oh shit wish we had william again we need secondary scoring.

This whole bertuzzi crap has got to stop. If you trade william get me a core f***ing player like a parayko or a helly. If they're not available you don't just trade a superior player for other bits and pieces.

Bertuzzi is a great piece to add but not when you're taking a key member of the core and trading him to get bert.

Trade Willy for a top prospect RD and prospect center. Move JT to RW, with that prospect at center. Use additional cap to keep campbell & acquire a 2nd line LW.

Bunting Matthews Marner
LW <ProspectCenter> JT
LW Kämpf Kase

Rielly <Prospect RD>
Muzzin Brodie
Giordano Lilly
Sandin Lyubushkin

Trade Holl & Kerfoot

Like I said, we were outcoached, heck we were outcoached by Ducharme.

Keefe takes forever to figure out basic stuff.

He is not alone, many coaches, were birthed out of the ass of a donkey for some reason.

Makes guys like Jon Cooper appear as gods.

They're not trading Nylander for prospects, which by definition are not yet NHL regulars and may never be.

I'm thinking you forgot the rest of the trade for Nylander.
1 year of Brown and ??? for Nylander?

Kadri probably better off in Boston. He could get away with his indiscretions there. And who cares about his wife, this is the NHL not a social club.
Well Kadri cares about his wife. If she wants to go home and he has that opportunity, wellllll....

Edvinsson just won the same award Seider won the year before. He's receiving all kinds of superlatives. Not given to hyperbole, I wouldn't be surprised if Edvinsson for Nylander straight up was passed on.

Nylander play smarter than grinderminded fans can understand. If u cant see that his intensions and
positions often are smarter then the players around him understand. I dont know what to say. Lift your heads teammates!
Yep, down a goal in the final minutes of game 7 is no time for grinderminded puck battles. Stupid fans.

Based on how things trend, Willy will go to another team and subsequently go onto a killer playoff run being his normal productive self .. and will look bad on the Leafs :sarcasm:

I think we have to keep Willy and find a way to re-sign him as well. I don't like a Leaf program without Nylander but Tavares is still in the mix. Doesn't make sense for the long term viability of the contending window. Also, Nylander is the only Leaf out of the Big 4 who is playing in the World Championship, and showing a lot of physicality in his game. Take that for what it's worth.

God I hate the feeling of moving a player because his value is high while you are competing but at same time I know change has to be done eventually. man we had so much potential back when Matthews, Marner and Nylander broke out miss that team with Kadri, JVR, Bozak, Brown who else feel like Im missing more

I tend to agree, but moving Tavares is like a bold, video game type trade.

True enough.
Wish he was ready a couple weeks ago.

Same. But perhaps if that bitter defeat is going to propel Nylander forward in his development that's a good thing to see. Wonder why Matthews and Marner didn't represent their countries?

Hurting or too distraught I would imagine.
Wonder what they and the rest of the team would think of Nylanders change in attitude?

It's got to be taken as a positive I would imagine. Can't change the past now, as the Leafs players like to remind us.

However, the one thing you always have to be wary of with Nylander is he's prone to back sliding. So he can still look like Peter Forsberg one day and probably give you Michael Nylander the next.

They’re probably wondering why the playoffs don’t motivate him to play like that.

Not sure his teammates have earned the right to question anyone else on that roster about their playoffs. They took some positive steps but I wouldn't say they found their "killer instinct." I'd say they've done an honourable job erasing the 2020 and 2021 debacles but are probably back to about 2018 on the development curve.

They should all be questioning each other, IMO.

Nylander for Bertuzzi + WSH 2nd. Saves us money this up-coming season and with Kerfoot’s contract expiring after the season we can use that towards re-signing Bertuzzi. It also gives us a draft pick in which we’re lacking in the upcoming draft.
