As if Staal is one of the top issues with this team. Please.

He's a pretty big one.

I didn't. So what's the point of this thread?

???

Did you see the post of yours I was replying to?

The point of the thread has already been reiterated several times: to gauge opinion and, shock, discuss the team we all root for. I for one have not said anything absolute Visa vis believing he should be fired, just starting a discussion.

If you don't like it, don't join in, there's plenty of threads beside this one. I don't need to justify this thread's existence

Do you think he should be fired?

In this instance, it's more of a characteristic or description of behaviour, but whatever.

I should have read that Mark Twain quote one more time before engaging with you

Enjoy the many threads available to you on hfboards

Thanks. Enjoy your weekend.

I see Quinn as the equivalent of Denis Savard for the Blackhawks.

Give him another season or two, then fire him and hire an actual good coach (equivalent of Quenneville). Then the Rangers can start doing some actual winning.

No one wanted to read my psychoanalysis of Quinn on the last page? ☹️ I actually genuinely wanted people to tell me what they think about what I wrote.

Honestly, for what?

The team lost the playoff series but we weren't a real playoff team and nobody expected us to make it there.

I have my differences with Quinn and I don't think he's the guy (at least not at this point in his career) that's winning us the Cup. But at the same time, the team is nowhere near that point.

Now if you want to discuss Quinn as a development coach and how effective he is in that role, that's valid, but he doesn't deserve to lose his job for losing the Covid Bowl.

I wish he didn't love bad players but that's every coach. Hockey is dumb.

This is where I stand.

Through no fault of his own, there is a level of success that will be expected moving forward. Not saying he needs to bring home a cup, but a comfortable post season birth I would think is the minimum with perhaps even winning a round being the minimum expectation.

They are young, but the FO has invested a ton of money into a few guys over the last 13 months, this isn't an excuse they can hang on any longer, even if it is valid.

The way people talk about firing Quinn is a litle crazy imo. What exactly do we achieve with that? This series was bullshit any the stoppage killed our momentum. Were we a cup contender? No, but maybe we ride a big end of the season to a playoff appearance? Unlikely but the point is, the team played as good as it can during the season. Young guys took steps forward and our top guys produced. Found a starting goalie in Igor and Panarin had an amazing year. Can't let some crappy 3 game series change everything that is going on. Last thing we need is a coaching change, sets us back.

It was an interesting post. For HF it's tl;dr. More than three significant paragraphs and you lose people.

the team was still bottom of the league in defense and possession during the regular season, saved by great performances from Panarin and Zib + the goaltending . People blame it on Ruff for some reason.

The team is bad at all the “coachable” things, like structure, team defense, winning battles , faceoffs etc. relying on your top talent to save you is not coaching.
