Voted yes, but okay with him sitting games 1-2. at this point, he should be playing for sure game 3. and part of me says same thing for schmid - but maybe on him you wait until the potentially inevitable 3-0 hole.

Only argument for the last one is you think it'll end up in a sweep and don't want him to apart of this shit show of a series currently

Good point. I just think how much worse can it get. And what do we have to lose. Maybe the kid will surprise us. But like you, I’m worried about him having a bad experience. I’m just confused on the issue.

The only problem is are we just benching Siegs forever now? He only got to play one game before losing his spot. They could play an AHL journeyman over Smith for all I care but it’s not going to fix the overarching issues.

I will reluctantly say ok to play him now with the hope he doesn't have an awful run of it. If NJ goes even further south in MSG do we really want Luke on the ice for that? He went out on a high note in his second game and maybe it's best for him to start fresh off that next season. Do we really expect a teenager with two games of experience to essentially reverse what has been a complete team failure from coaching to virtually every player? That's asking a lot and probably setting him up for failure.

Don't think it'll matter much with how this has gone so far. We're being forced to cycle and go low-to-high for point shots and try to pick up garbage or tip ins from there. Which our forwards aren't particularly suited for. The rush offense is being smothered and I doubt Hughes will improve it much at all...while also likely causing more good chances against us.

If nothing else, at least it'd be some good experience for him.

Just like Caufield a couple years ago, you need to play your best players. Luke could have made a difference.

And while we are at it, throw Holtz in too (if eligible)
Except Holtz is NOT one of our best players. Anyone he's an upgrade over that played last night (Wood) there's better players than him up in the press box, like Boqvist.

Hughes may just be better than guys we had in there last night, but Siegenthaler was the guy that shouldn't have been scratched.

The rush game is being smothered by our own strategy.

No such thing as bad experience. All experience is good.

Edit: I shouldn't say that. I'm some cases, you don't want to force young guys into situations they can't handle, which can ruin their development. But I think Luke is as surefire as it gets.

I doubt he’s gonna play

But let’s just hope Siegenthaler plays and not Smith again, because he used to play for the Rangers and is a physical presence or whatever lame ass bullshit answer Ruff gave.

It sounded like some fake mock, exaggerated answer we would give as to why somebody was in, only it was actually real lol.

Absolutely let him play. Can't be any more embarrassed than we already have.
