Just out of curiosity, can I get a show of hands if anyone would want patty kane on the team?
Depends on the circumstances. I absolutely have issues with him as a person. He was definitely part of the leadership group on the Hawks when members of the team bullied a sexual assault victim. And the incident with the cab driver was also pretty bad.
That said unlike Evander Kane he has shown an ability to actually play hockey without causing problems for sustained amount of time.

He's also a convicted rapist, and that's why I posed the question. Nothing with evander kane can be substantiated, but because of the volume of accusations, he is viewed as guilty.

There would need to be a very In depth discussion among the management and leadership group before you consider a move like this. Under the fishbowl of Toronto I just don't see it , as good as the fit is from a player perspective.

True, but let's not forget that Kane was also investigated for choking, beating and raping a woman in his hotel in 2016. She had:

"bodily injury including lacerations, extensive bleeding requiring multiple surgeries and blood transfusions, and serious emotional trauma."

The same year he got into a fight at a bar and supposedly grabbed a woman by her neck. Like the other Kane, the charges were dropped. Still, this guy has a very long list of anti-social behaviour (fits anti-social personality to a tee) so this is par for the course. He's not going to snap out of this.

The worst outcome is Florida or Tampa, I absolutely don't want him on either team.... Edmonton I'm fine with.
Florida and Carolina need a guy like him, if they want to take a serious run. Tampa doesn’t need him, but he’d be a valuable piece.

What about Craig MacTavish and Danny Heatley actually killing people with the choices they made? Both continued to have careers after the fact and many pro athletes are just horrible people.
Derek Jeter would Tony Stark girls with a giftbag after one night stands, many people disagree with it (im not one of them) and thought he shouldn't get into the HoF becasue of it.

I think it is very telling that rumored teams with interest are Tampa and Florida 2 teams we have to go through. Tampa never sits on its hands, makes bold moves every year trying to get another. We do what we do. SAD

Make bold moves?

Make bold moves?

Yeah add Mcdonough, Savrad, Coleman, Goodrow, aquired Seabrooks contract for LTIR cap relief so they could effectively have a $90MM roster during the playoffs. Was that a trick question?

Name 1 bold move the Leafs have made?

Please, that's ridiculous... if you don't know, can't help you. There have been plenty. But carry on with the schtick.

*accused rapist. There is a difference.
And as I said I wouldn’t really want either on my team but at least I can understand people who would want Patrick Kane. He is a very good player who I think can come in and not cause problems even if he is a garbage human being.
At this point I have no faith in Evander to be able to do the same.

Again if anyone wants to read this, it paints Evander Kane in a whole different picture, even during his time in Winnipeg. Now did Kane pay to have that story fabricated for his move to Buffalo, sure it's possible, but that would be inconsistent with his actions.

And at the time of Patty Kane's rape charge, it was widely given that he paid to make that go away.

Two different teams players wanted nothing to do with him. Ignore the noise about his issues outside of hockey. But, I can't think of the last player who was ran off two different teams due to teammates hating him for his lack of professionalism. And, the only organization he didn't get run-off from has been one of the most dysfunctional of the past 10 years.

Really? Define "widely given".

I think part of the difference between Kanes is that one seems to be involved in controversy of his own making, repeatedly. The other, if he is behaving badly, apart from a cab ride, seems to have learned a lesson or two.

And as for P.Kane's "widely given" what's tantamount to an admission, uh...no. It appears the case was rife with material inconsistencies. Besides, the point's made what, over one person's preference of one player to another? Nothing wrong with that at all. Nothing duplicitous in the least. There's no equivalency to be made. And the preference against E. Kane and for P.Kane is justified from a hockey standpoint a 1000x over, never mind the (underlined) never ending saga of me, myself and I, Evander Kane.

If you want a full disclosure comparison, invoke Doug Gilmour. It's not about mistakes made, it's about mistakes made on top of mistakes and a constant of mistakes that paints E. Kane for the outlier he is/was.

If he changes then that's AWESOME. Good for him and best of luck to him...in Edmonton or Kladno or wherever other than Toronto.
