With an experienced dressing room with a few solid vets who have been there and done that, and guys that don’t have their own hangups, sure, would be OK with taking a flyer on him…
But this is not that dressing room.
It’s not like we have a whole bunch of issues, but we’re not strong enough to take on new issues either.

Love the people saying they don’t want the locker room culture messed up, like 5 straight 1st round exits is some enviable culture
All I’ve been trying to say haha
Leafs fans act like our team has given us a bunch os success and we been close

when we lose in first round we all want these players traded and dubas gone

but actually doing something to change things and try to really go for it nah

So instead we insill a culture of flashing money, gambling millions, abusing spouses, and basically not listening to anything anyone says about anything? Ya that sounds ****ing smart bro.

Dude is a grade A pos since before he entered the league. His birthplace used to say Surrey btw (you’d be scared if you took the wrong train and ended up here) he must’ve had that changed to Vancouver for optics.

Anyone who votes "Yes" is a moron and would fit perfectly in an NHL front office.

Somebody at tsn having some fun with this.
"Is Evander Kane a goof fit with the Oilers"? lol

I'm normally one who likes to shake up the system when I don't like the attitude. I would have made a big splash to do just that a couple of years ago.

However, management has made their decision for at least this year. A other first round exit and a big contract out and a player like Kane in might make much more sense but not today.

In this season, such a distraction isn't needed. Next season? It all depends on how this team does obviously.

2*2 deal, prorated this year. Will help tide things over and gives Dubas some playing room to keep Campbell without cap gymnastics.

He’ll leave the kinda stain that just won’t go away no matter how hard you scrub in the locker room

Guy literally never learns and is a huge distraction

TBH having him for the second half of the season and a playoff run might be the best case... I think he could keep his head on straight for 6 months knowing his career is on the line... any longer he wouldn't be good

hes a piece of shit but so are a number of nhl players

he will probably do well on mcdavids wing and have success there. The idea that a locker room can keep a person in check is flawed to begin with, its 2/3rds of a season I wouldnt sweat it at all

Let the oilers have this mess that team still won’t improve
The Oilers are trash. Most overrated players and team in the league. Kane is a good hockey player, but he won’t turn that train wreck around alone. Edmonton has the worst D and goaltending in the league. They should have started with that.

The worst outcome is Florida or Tampa, I absolutely don't want him on either team.... Edmonton I'm fine with.

Kane doesn't help the Oilers D or goalie issues.. another step forward to outscoring their issues!

I'd be more concerned if he ended up back in our division.

I feel like if he went to Florida or Tampa he’d end up hurting them. Remember when San Jose was once a model franchise with stable leadership?

He had to know his career was on the line before he submitted false vaccine documents.
If he hadn’t figured it out at that point he should have known it was on the line when a team paying him 7M a season sent him to the AHL but he still broke Covid protocol.

He can’t get out of his own way. Maybe he does for 6 months and helps a team now. But there is a damn good chance he can’t and causes problems and a distraction
