Wait are you now arguing that Dubas has given Keefe a super-elite roster?
Yes, I have been reevaluating Dubas's, work and the team quality should be enough to have won 1 first-round series at least in his 3-year tenure (realistically we should have 3-5 round wins during that time frame). I'm starting to think it's time to fire the coach and President and give Dubas one run with full control as Pres+GM with him bringing in a more experienced coach and seeing how the team fares

Despite the offensive depth sacrifice, the team is good enough to win a round and credit is due there for Dubas.

Leafs if they fall though, won't be able to absorb not doing anything major again. Someone would need to have the blame fall on them, and I think Shanny + Keefe along with whichever core piece plays the worst deserves that blame.

Now if Dubas goes crazy and goes after a rental again especially one who has previous injuries/old and slow then I'd be disappointed. I'm disappointed we might lose Rielly for nothing, but if we get a round or two out of it I can stomach that loss. Just don't want us buying needlessly unless it's pieces that are fitting the team for more than 1 playoff run (like Muzzin was when he was dealt for making it a very good deal)

Do you mean the stubbornness where his team out shot Columbus 33 to 21 in game 5, but a .905 SV% performance by his goalie cost them the series, or do you mean his stubbornness where his team out shot, and out chanced the Habs this year in games 5, 6, and 7, but a .892 SV% performance cost them this one.

Wait but i thought we aren't allowed to put any blame on Jesus Campbell's shoulders.

I don't think this should surprise anyone.

His first year he takes over a team mid season, then has to deal with the Covid disruption and strange playoff bubble. Hard to take much away from that year for better or for worse.

Last season again, not a normal one, only inner divisional play (and not even the teams regular division), no training camp. Does well in the regular season by winning the division and flops in the playoffs.

Front office doesn't want a lame duck coach (and not should they, the last thing this team needs is another level of media pressure/drama).

A short extension to see how he fairs over the next 1-2 normal 82 game seasons seems a perfectly reasonable decision to make.

.919 - 37 - 34 - Ilya Sorokin
.907 - 43 - 39 - Mike Smith
.906 - 32 - 29 - Jordan Binnington

.842 - 19 - 16 - Ilya Samsonov
.833 - 42 - 35 - Philipp Grubauer
.792 - 24 - 19 - Tristan Jarry

It's no coincidence the top two were in the final, as for Jack, not so good.

A tale of two finishes between the regular season and playoffs, but the former was nonetheless a solid development. Coaching/management contracts aren't like player contracts anyway.
marner did not play in exhibition game #1

It's a deal, but doesn't mean a sucka stays, if he ain't healthy or succeeding. If the leafs ain't making past the first round, keefe, and dubas will be gezone. FOR LIFE SIRE. FOR LIFE. And y'all can bank on that there.

Don't kid yourself. Dubas and Keefe are lame duck.

Imagine getting upset about a coaches extension. In a league where Coach wages have zero effect on the team, or job security. What a forum.
Some have actually posted multiple, multiple times with their whining about something so insignificant. Multiple.

You’re asking a lot. Lol.
If I asked Leafs fans what was the best line in the playoffs 99 percent instantly say the Kerfoot line, literally driving the team. So, what does Keefe do, he actually breaks them up and inserts half speed Foligno, destroying that line and throwing off the new third. It quite literally may have cost us the series, what are you thinking breaking up the line that was dynamite? That’s some kind of bad coaching.

One philosophical question, is it a good idea to bring in a coach with no previous playoff experience to a team with no previous playoff success.

You compensate by bringing in players and coaches who has been there

Our coaching staff end to end is so green. Feels like a college team

Dubas should have hired an experience assistant coach to provide some support for Sheldon.

Agreed.

In other words, the onus is on the goalie and the players to win the games, not the coach.

Wow. Mind blown.
