That game was the single most infuriating display I think I've seen out of this core. Which is surprising, because we have seen so many

Up 2-1 on the defending champs, you have them weak with a chance to make it 3-1 going back to an insanely loud crowd. You pissed away an amazing chance the year prior in a historical collapse where you took your foot off the gas. You should be hungry and driven to put the champs on the ropes. Instead we came out limp and the game was over in 10 minutes, pathetic.
sounds like this team in a nutshell

The lack of killer instinct is reprehensible.

To a certain extent I feel for him, like look at this:

He looks like he's said it 1000 times but they won't listen, like he's fed up. Can't really blame him, his job is on the line and the players keep repeating bad habits

It’s funny though. Sometimes their problem is their skating, skating, skating. Like on the Montreal game winner where the forward group was blowing the zone before the D even had the puck to outlet. They look like they’re trying to be fast with no instructions or timing. Maybe the fire drill look of the team sometimes has to do with an instructional issue.

The more you hear Keefe the less and less confident you feel in the guy.

I would guess that's a big part of the problem. They don't need to be told they need to skate, that's kind of thing a peewee house league coach yells.

I've given Keefe the benefit of the doubt for a while now, but now I've got this feeling that he's just not the guy to lead us to the end of playoffs.

It seems to me this team needs a new voice. Maybe a guy like Trotz, hardass kind of guy.

Dubas needs to make a dent in playoffs this year or this whole organization is going to start to fall apart. He can't replace the whole roster, and if he doesn't make a change it's his ass on the line. Does he have the nuts to replace his guy Keefe?

I bet the skate sharper, bus driver and team chef are scared right now..... None of the lower level staff are safe from Dubas when the team is faltering.
According to Dubas, a new water boy is going to change this team around!

I was just thinking, once Knies joins this team… Watch Keefe play him with Simmonds and Kampf or something along those lines for 6/7 minutes a night…

Is the MLSE Corporate jet anywhere near Garden City, New York ?

Trotz by a mile, he would command that room instantly.

Trotz wants to get into management. I don't think he wants a coaching role
He'll want dual role of GM and Coach if anything. Which I can't see it happening

Seperation of duties.

What baffles me is in all his time here - he still has yet to put Nylander with Matthews and Marner with Tavares like Babcock did (which btw was pretty effective...)

Wonder where this team would be with Babs still as coach - I think he was significantly better than Keefe

And that's talking bad about Keefe - not a compliment for Babcock

Then get Trotz into management so he can both mentor a new coach and add valuable input to a new GM on some proper roster construction.

It's becoming more and more clear that the days are numbered for Shanny/Dubas/Keefe.

I mean It's Mike Babcock. Arguablly Canada's best coach not named maybe Scotty Bowman along with few Stanly Cups and two stanly cup final appearences

He's an A-hole but a good coach. A complete power hungry A-hole.... But a good coach

If he didnt' get let go by the Leafs, Keefe and Babcock should not be in the same sentence.

You just can't discredit what Babs have done in this league just because we don't like him anymore. But even the greatest coahces like Mourinho, Maldini, , Cox, Lombardi, Al Arbour gets hated because they become bigger than the role
