He's owed just $10.6M of his $13.3M hit remaining. The Rangers, if they were desperate to get rid of him, could eat half his remaining salary rather than giving up anything of value. A Kevin Shattenkirk that is owed only $5.3M over the next two years would absolutely have value. The Rangers probably wouldn't even have to eat that much to move him.
