Is the going rate for a center putting up a 30g/90p pace a late 2nd and 3rd? I feel like the return could be significantly better than that.

However, if you’re right, I’ll concede that I’d prefer Grier simply extend Granlund over playing games for a couple of 2nd/3rd rounders.
I highly doubt Granlund ends up with that production.

I’d prefer he extend even if it’s a first. Sharks will get at least one or two more top prospects in the ‘25 draft. They have a small army of good prospects still, including arguably the best Dman in the CHL, a top 5 ahl dman, and several good forwards as well as the best goalie prospect. They don’t need more top picks for 4 years from now, they need to get this ship going and Granlund is great part of that.

Dickinson with 3 points in the 1st period? How dominant is he or just how dominant is London? Good lord.
Both, but Dickinson is the biggest reason why they're so dominant. They've been without Cowan (and Halttunen) for the last several games and haven't really missed him much.

Dickinson is going to be a real problem next year. He may not be quite NHL-ready yet, but I don't see how you can send him back to juniors. And unlike Musty, it's not like Dickinson has a ton to work on without the puck. Sure, there's some defensive aspects he could improve on, but nothing worth playing a fourth CHL season.

I can understand the other two but what were you expecting from Bystedt? He's producing very well for what is essentially his first AHL season.

I think his progression has been very encouraging.
He’s doing ok. I’ve watched several of his games and he’s solid but I haven’t seen the kind of crushing it that I had hoped for. I get his progression is fine, but I suppose I had hoped for him to clearly establish himself as a future top 6 forward. Watching him, he actually kinda reminds me of wennberg. Tall and lanky, solid, but not gunna be a star.

Obviously early to tell, but I suppose I was looking for a bit more. Maybe my expectations were out of line….

Mutual nullification of his ELC? Then enroll at BU?

Yeah, this one is a doozy. Ridiculous to go back to juniors after this year, but agreed that he might not be ready for the show. He wasn’t particularly close this year.

Europe for a year?

Argh….

Yes. Bystedt is our 3C prospect. Not a top 6 prospect.

Well, he looks like a fine 3c prospect then I guess. I suppose I enjoy the high end guys with more sexy tools…

And the nullification is just to qualify to play ncaa. Obviously, he’d sign again after a year.

It’s not gunna happen. My money is on him making the team out of camp if Europe and ncaa aren’t options. Then they do like will smith style. Accept mistakes with limited sheltered minutes. Maintenance days. Etc…

Bystedt is hopefully going to turn into a very good 3C that can step up in the lineup if someone gets injured. I think that’s really important too as we all know from past Sharks teams that had terrible 3rd lines.

Andrew Ladd was an incredibly important player as 3C for the Hawks dynasty. Not saying Bystedt is that, just saying I agree with you that an overpowered 3C is very important for winners.

Dickenson is now a pro and can never play NCAA sports, period. You can't undo pro status once you've got it.

Bystedt is doing just fine, he was never going to be a top 6 guy.

Is Dickinson performing up to par with a prospect of his stature, better? Worse? It’s always hard for me to gauge — as someone who doesn’t watch these leagues — what kind of performance is expected and what is exceptional. This SEEMS exceptional but…
