Maybe the Leafs should bring back Dion Phaneuf and his too small suits and pink socks. That seems to be what Toronto fans love. The really important stuff.

I’m just going to cheer them on and just take it one game at a time, win tonight and come back here and get ready for Friday. I know everyone is depressed on here but I don’t understand threads like this.

If they can win the next 3 then game 7 is literally a coin flip. It starts tonight

As a fan this should be a fun game to look forward to/watch.

Its close to
50-50 they win or lose like most games.

If they lose:
-many have gotten the agnst out already, not much new that can be said here
-they PROBABLY DO need some major changes, and this would cause it to happen (likely)

If they win:
-You are still down big, but you have a bit of confidence now.
-You are coming back home for a game, and now THAT game is about you REALLY getting back into it, which makes game 5 really important.
-You can look forward to the possibility that if they win game 5, they would still be down but many might be looking at the Leafs as the favorite to come back and win the series (if you beleive in momentum).

It won’t surprise me at all if we win tonight. They know that there’s sooo much on the line, and not just getting eliminated!

Winning this game and then coming back to Toronto, gives me a bit of hope that the boys might be able to make a series out of this. We’ve been lousy at home, but hopefully that would change.

I can see this going to 6 games, tbh. Then again, it could well be a sweep. If it is, heaven help the city of Toronto…. Pitchforks and torches!

Or the rest of the series for that matter, Toronto might actually play a good game tonight but the series is all but over

If you're interested, everyone elses feelings on tonight are here.

They'll win tonight, and be horrendous Friday night in front of the home fans who paid a fortune to see a lackluster, embarrassing effort. Fans that have been punished for far too long by entitled Leafs.
We'll hear the same old bullshit we always have, except the "we made it through the first step" crap.

Or they'll lose tonight and it all ends.

I think that they'll win the next 3 games and lose in game 7. I hope that I'm wrong and they win the next 4.

I have a feeling they win 3 in a row and lay a massive egg at home in game 7. This team loves to play when the pressure is non existent. When it heats up they forget how to skate or make a pass etc.

I think they skate their asses off tonight win, they get a big W at home, maybe squeak out a OT win in game 6 and then fall on their face in game 7

I was really happy about the victory in the first playoff round, but the performances in almost all games until now have already dulled me inside. Of course, it's easier to escape it all from a distance here in Europe, so I only feel the sadness from time to time about the failed generation.

Shame me. I am ready and don't care anymore.

Same.

I don't care anymore. A win tonight means nothing.

The complete lack of give a crap by Matthews and Marner specifically, as well as Keefe's complete inability to make any adjustments in game when it was painfully clear that Matthews and Marner needed to be separated really has done me in.

Just lose already and let whatever changes are coming start already. This core are chronic failures not suited for playoff hockey. There has been no maturation, no evolution, no veteran wisdom gained. They do the same stupid shit that should have been left behind years ago, with the same stupid outcome.

Nothing changes, so what does winning one game do, other than delay the inevitable.

Down Goes Brown's column on The Athletic captured it best:
Tonight should be viewed as a fun event. Either it's the start of a comeback, a glimpse of hope...or it's the end of the core and management as we know it.

Either way the core that we know will be changed, they'll either man up or they'll be shipped out.

Toronto loves teams like the Bay Street Bullies, what Dubas gave us is the exact opposite.

They go out of their way to hurt their own bottom line. If this were a throwback team that played hard they would probably outsell in the merch dept too.

Sick of all the negativity.
Do you honestly think it'll be any different than what we've all become used to over the years?

The best article I've read since bought my subscription. He captured it perfectly:

"But I just can’t bring myself to serve up another helping of mumbly misery for this team. I’m done. I’m all angsted out. I guess I must not be a playoff opponent in a do-or-die game, because this Maple Leafs team has beaten me."

Good way to look at it but I'm indifferent at this point. Numb after the Habs debacle

The usual of watching the game and hoping for a win. Tonight's tilt just so happens to be the season's first "must win" situation.
