Anyone listed to today's Leaf Report:

"Leafs core four fail again in an elimination game"

33:45 mark

Mirtle amd Seigel hint at him out. But they kinda wanted to save that news until the playoffs are over for the Leafs.

I listened to it and they didn’t mention Shanahan at all. They were talking about defensive zone faceoffs at 33:45.

Shanahan should have been fired 5 years ago. Accountability in any organization starts at the top. If you have no accountability for the management, how can you expect coaches and especially players to be held accountable? This entire organization is a complete dumpster fire that should be burned to the ground and relocated to the Shadow Realm.

No after that they talked about this being it for the core because the guy at the top won't be here to bring them back.

Ok a few minutes later.

Apple podcasts must have more ads.bc it was 33:45 for me on spotify lol

Oh ok yeah that explains it then. I had to do a search for “Shanahan” and they didn’t mention him by name.

Maybe he’s gone anyway but the way they worded it may have been clumsily fast forwarding to the inevitable.

Unless this team goes on a deep run, game 7 of the ECF or beyond, absolutely no interest in re-signing him.

Blame Dubas all we want, but who hired Dubas the rookie GM to negotiate the ELC deals of the core ? Shanny deserves a lot of the blame if this team fails once again.

Dubas, Keefe and Shanahan should have all been fired after losing to the Habs.

Shanny's legacy will be the number of jerseys sold while he was in charge.

Its the last year of his deal. Pelley let him run out the clock without embarrassing him.

Criticism wherever due. Credit wherever due.

Had a fantastic interchange with a couple of Penguins fans, that I was subsequently disciplined for, for what I believe was “counter-flaming” (i.e. Having a better flame-thrower).

This to say, were a much better kind of fan. If he’s leaving, it does nothing good for us to forget everything that Shanahan did and attempted to do.

I think there have been two plainly perceived problems and one that is unassailable unless proven (quickly) otherwise:

The second contracts following Tavares hire hurt us.

Our generational goal-scoring 1C might have pulled one of the great bait and switches in NHL history. And no one. Not one person, could’ve reasonably been expected to see through that shine.
