I'm fine with running it back, but I just can't see, given the cap situation, any conceivable way the hockey club improves. Which is what they need to do...improve the club
The idea that Lou would have signed Matthews, Mariner and Nylander for far less was always a fantasy.
They are losing touch with the fanbase in a Captain Ahab obsession to prove we can and will over and over. They are so tone deaf it’s not funny. They do not care what the fan base feels. Shanny and Dubas do not deserve this long suffering fan base.
if this team had singular ownership they would be out on their asses
Iam to embarrassed to put a leaf flag. I've had one sitting in my closet. They are so tone deaf it’s not funny. They do not care what the fan base feels. Shanny and Dubas do not deserve this long suffering fan base.

play that game 7 one hundred times and nick paul won't replicate what he did. it's more about having some depth, not nick paul in particular. our depth was lacking (no shows from engvall, mikheyev, etc.), which was one of the differences int he series. After sleeping on it, I am fine with all management staying.
My anger is more with the depth they surrounded the core with. If the management has anger towards them as well, then management is cool with me.
Let's get some game 7 Nick Paul's in there. These guys are cheap and play above their pay grade in the playoffs.
I still don't understand how Nick Paul beat our depth in game 7. Our depth is capable of making Nick Paul look like a scrub, they're just not willing. If they're not willing in game 7 3 years in a row, they will never be willing.
If management thinks our depth has been fine...clear them out.
No one’s happy with “just making the playoffs” some are just more level headed than othersFor some
We did, they didn't call it. Bunting was flopping all over the place.I unironically agree, given the nature of the modern game we need to dive more
Our guys play through a lot of contact, and while that's great we do need to go down easier. Only Bunting does that on our club
I HAVENT WATCHED A SECOND SINCE THE COLUMBUS DISASTER BUT TAKE MY WORD ON WHY THIS TEAM SUCKSI'M SO FLIPPING ANGRY, I'M DONE WITH THIS TEAM AND IF ANYONE DOUBTS ME, JUST READ MY NEXT 6700 POSTS AND YOU'LL SEE.![]()
Not only are those same people not "happy with just making the playoffs", we expect it as a fact of the team's future. No one’s happy with “just making the playoffs” some are just more level headed than others

Plenty of posters predicted them as a bubble team with Montreal and Buffalo this year. Not only are those same people not "happy with just making the playoffs", we expect it as a fact of the team's future.
I'm not ready to blow the team apart because of this 1st round loss, but I definitely don't believe that the playoffs is even an objective for them. It's viewed as a given.
They had 3 PP's in game 7 and pansied around the perimeter and thus went 0 FOR 3.Sports is a result-based business. If you did it, you did it. If you didn't, then you didn't.
And all these reffing excuses are ridiculous. Did we get screwed on some calls? Yeah sure, specifically on the Kampf call (though I will say it is incredibly tough for a referee to read that in real time, Foote sold it well and the stick was in the vicinity)
But guess what? You need to f***ing work through it. Do not fold and use that as an excuse. Come playoff time things go wrong and its up to the team to work through it. Tampa had one of the worst penalties I've ever seen called against them today (McDonagh interference) when they were up 1 late in the third. What did they do? They didn't breakdown, they killed it off and won the game. If we're this new and improved team we need to have the poise to fight through adversity
Plenty of posters also argued with me that Kessel was a locker room cancer and one of the worst players in the NHL who would always be a perennial loser and would make all the teams he played for lose.Plenty of posters predicted them as a bubble team with Montreal and Buffalo this year.
Everyone is wanting and expecting to see changes to the team coming into next season.I don't see a lot of posters calling for scorched earth, so it seems to me the folks who see continued failure and want some changes in the organization's approach ARE the level headed ones. IMO, those that feel the approach and leadership is perfectly fine after repeated failures are much less level headed.
A mod here predicted they’d be at best a bubble team, and that Montreal would be battling for the division. They also allow a lot of garbage to go on in herePlenty of posters predicted them as a bubble team with Montreal and Buffalo this year.
0 for 6 losers in the first round? Overnight? You Dubas apologists are delusional. The team has gotten better since Keefe has taken over, he has an excellent record so far and had led the team to a historical season. Playoff success doesn’t happen overnight.
Why are you okay hanging losses on a management team that wasn’t in change at the time and a team that’s 80% turned over since then? How many playoff failures did Stevie Y and Mario endure in a league where 16 out of 21 teams make the post season?0 for 6 losers in the first round? Overnight? You Dubas apologists are delusional.
They lost by one goal in game 7 to a team that’s won the last two and looks primed for a finals run and a shot at #3. Who cares about past losses? What good does that do hanging that on the current group?
Yup, I guess we're going for 10 first round losses in a row.Wise decision. You don't change horses in midstream.
I know we don’t wear masks anymore but mine were Leafs masks. If I had to wear it now it would be worn upside downIam to embarrassed to put a leaf flag. I've had one sitting in my closet.
I will once they win a playoff round, I might have to take it to the grave.
