I'm not sure why the Ministry of Defense is to blame here, for "failing to protect" a shipwreck in foreign waters.

Any foreign ship that is sunk in another country's waters during war time, ought to become property of that country, no?

I wouldn't expect the British military to forever hold authority over Indonesian interests when it pertains to their own waters, like "No you can't go there, that's our property. Stay back."

read about this a couple days ago. Quite a feat of engineering to remove vessels as large as this with no attention being drawn to them.

I talked to a buddy of mine who is an Engineer and he says for the time and effort needed--the local government needed to be involved. Where the ships were are some of the most active waters for military ships to travel in and for the job to be done--whomever did that had to have the schedule of when the government was told foreign military vessels would be in the area so they could skip out. He thinks fishing trawlers were used as camouflage for the work done

For sure, that would make a lot of sense.

The math says it took between 6 months to 18 months to do all ships and that is before you get into the equipment needed

Can we confirm or deny whether whales moved the ships? Or Whirlpools? Or Quicksand?

I have a hard time believing PEOPLE were behind this. Its gonna be HILARIOUS when they realize all those boats don't work anymore.

You know David Copperfield behind dis, he once made the statue of liberty vanish. Looks like he up to his old tricks again.

I think jumptheshark has some bubbles in head. There are no missing ships. All ships have been accounted for.

I work on training vessels here on the west coast and this has been going around for a few weeks now. Most of us are shocked it took so long for it to make the news. How the ships were discovered missing was that on November 11th several Commonwealth countries sent vessels to the area to lay wreaths and that is when they were discovered missing. There was also to be 75th anniversary memorials. The Dutch are upset because one of their top admirals was on one of their ships that sunk. The photos I seen clearly give the indication that a major salvage operation took place over months if not years. The British, Dutch and I believe the Australians are investing the grave robbery. Which it is. Due to the amount of Sailors who lost their lives on the ships during the battle, the sunken ships were declared military graveyards and were given the same status as any military graveyard that is on land. Reports came in a few days ago that scuba divers had reported to the Singapore government as far back as March that "fishing" vessels were using explosives to get to the metal. According to military records between 2000 to 3000 sailors perished on the ships that were stolen. The Singapore government has denied they received reports but the scuba divers kept copies of the reports they had filed with not only the RSN but emails were sent to Rear Admiral Han. Singapore across the board are saying that none of these reports were filed

nope. Thought it was an article was bogus. but the guardiam who first reported it has done several fallow up articles

The Guardian explicitly states that all ships have been accounted for. There are no missing ships. I'm reading my ship gauge right now, the arrow is in the green. That means 100% of ships are accounted for.
