Seth Jones Forgives, But Hasn't Forgotten The Panthers' Decision (Interview)

We have nothing to apologize for. We drafted the players that fits our needs.

Why doesn't Colorado have to be "forgiven"? They didn't draft the homegrown kid especially when they're dying for defence.

Oh I supported the pick 100%, Jones was just saying that even though he's happy in Nash that getting passed on by FL/COL/TB gives him a chip on his shoulder. He was pretty surprised that he did fall to 4th.

Edit: I also used FL specifically because it was right after he played the Panthers and after Colorado made it clear they were going with Mack he thought for sure he was going to FL.

If he was so self assured of himself that he thought he was a sure fire top 3, then it was good for him to be passed on and fall to fourth. This will help him keep any ego in check, keep him humble, and give him motivation to succeed. I'm very happy with the Barkov pick, but wish Jones nothing but the best.

Yep, I think each player fell to their perfect spot except for Mackinnon. Jones gets to learn while playing in an insanely good defensive unit. Barkov gets to be the number one center that the Panthers' needed. Drouin gets to set up one of the NHL's best scorers. And as for Mack, he's just kind of another center on a team that lacks d, but I'm sure he'll still do great.

Jones was very nice to interview and I even saw him stay around the rink today and sign some autographs/take photos with Panther fans for 20 min. Loved the last quote in the article as well.
