Pretty much just tells me there is a portion of this fanbase, and arguably a fairly large portion of this fanbase, which deserves absolutely nothing positive to come from this franchise. For all of the talk about players not wanting to play for the coach, it would be more fitting that they do not want to play for the fans.

It is too bad for the many who have faithfully and respectfully supported that team, but for all of the talk about players not wanting to play for each other and their coach, it would be more fitting for them not wanting to play for the fans... And especially not these fans. Doesn't matter if they've failed to meet expectations and let them down, nor that their support pays their lofty salaries... Failure is the letting them off easy.

Firstly,, let me say that the internert is a haven for crazies & wackos; that's what I'm doing here. b) There is only one reason that players should work their butts off, $11 million. Now if some player doesn't want to try because his feelings got hurt by the fans saying he sucks when he does, I don't want him on my team. iii) That's all.

That of course includes this site.

i don't consider forums the same as social media. Largely because they're tightly moderated, a lot of times to remain on topic.

And at least in this context we have anonymity. Anonymity goes both ways so while it works like a sword and opens the door to someone acting like a jackass, it also acts like a shield to protect people from attacks.

People treat forums like a discussion even though it does devolve from time to time it still ends up as a discussion. People treat social media like a stage like they feel the need to say whatever the hell they want to whomever they want.

Here we have discussion through topic and subtopic. On social media? anything goes. It's just disgusting. I've reported comments that cross so far over the line that they'd be potentially criminal and twitter comes back and is like "all good, they don't violate our rules".

Even though moderation is a huge part of the issue, it's basically the decentralized (and very public) nature of the discussion and how it basically ends up as being opt-in for talking but you can never opt out of harassment.

Not all forums are good. But at least there's good ones.
